I figure why not start a thread for these Generation of Chargers. A family member had 1972 Rallye Charger with a late model 400 and 727 with 3.23s. I was promised years ago that I would get the car but, that no longer will happen as it was a false promise. Knowing what I know in my life now I should of just sought a 1972 Rallye Charger for myself when I was younger. I like the 1972 Rallyes the best but, don't mind the 1971 and 1973-74 Chargers as well. Anyways, let's see your 1971-1974 Dodge Chargers.
Here's a couple pics of my 73 SE, turned hotrod. Hot 440 4 speed, 4:10's, had a power sunroof installed by Inalfa , power windows, hideaways. Than there's the obvious stuff.

Left South Central Louisiana on a Thursday morning car hunting, drove to Dallas Tx (Mecum auction), then to Quitman Tx (car was advertised as running driving. wouldn't start), Fort Worth (another advertised as running driving. spent two hours with owner to get it to run then he tells us the price had been increased by 2 grand between the time we set up to see it ((a week before)) and the time we get there), then to north of Little Rock (nice 69 Barracuda barely out of our budget but wife wanted to see it anyway) and ended up finding this diamond in the rough in Mobile AL. Sunday afternoon and brought it home on Monday. Original except for wheels. Bought it from the second owner who had it for 20 years. Everything works! Hood light, trunk light, A/C etc. Looks like jack has never been removed. Car is straight and solid. Top needs to be replaced. Probably just gonna paint it with some textured paint.

Here's my 74 Rallye 360 auto. First time out of shop since 2006 when we started street-use resto. The grandson has since driven it to school and it's now stored in garage where he lives on the next street behind us.

Post 51-

White with a blue painted top.

Can't be too many of those around.

In fact, might be 1 of 1 built if it's factory that way.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a full painted top 2 tone on a 71-74.

This was my old blue 74 318 column shift bench seat, original as, owned it 18 months, just didn't make enough power to keep me interested so I sold it and imported this triple black 71 383 slapstik in January. Goes good, needs a bit of work on the trunk and front floor pan yet though...
I've had 2x 68 Dodge Chargers, one was a 318 stocker and the other was a black R/T 440, also had a 71 VH R/T 265 6 pack 4 speed Aussie Charger in Mercury Silver, but now I've come to prefer the Gen III's. Wouldn't mind getting a Magnum though...and another Aussie one...

kiwi,

Love your mopar madness! Especially your 71 triple black 383 Charger. I too have a triple black 71, but it’s and SE. it is also a big block as well. Small block just aren’t enough to move that beast quick enough for me.

Cheers 71 - good to hear! Post up a picture of it if you feel like it. Weirdly enough, my 71 got fitted with 73 front and rear bumpers but they'll be staying on, just too difficult, rare and expensive to find and import spares out here - and zero chance of finding a wrecked one in a salvage yard :praying::rofl:

Here’s my 71 SE.

I bought this from the original owner back in 2001 and he said that after ordering his all black Dodge Charger he found that they put a black pin stripe on the car and the 383 that he asked for turned into a 440 at the factory!

The stripe is gone since the car has had a repaint about 1980. I notice that there was an extra tx9 on the fender tag after driving the car home.
