The story on this truck is it was built by Seagrave in Clintonville, WI in record time after 9/11/01 to help resupply FDNY after the loss of so many rigs that day. It was built in about 6 months - half the usual time for such a build. The Seagrave employees paid for the murals themselves. It was a big story around here, being a local company to the area.
My wife, daughter, and I happened to see it in person on the street when we were in NYC in August of 2002. It was only a few months old at that time. We had a nice chat with the guys on the rig.
