That is not correct!The first one was actually '67 but was not badged as such like the 68-70 models otherwise it was just a '67 Belvedere...
Chrysler came up with some really nit picky differences between the GTX and Sport Satellite in '69. GTX had partial wheel lip moldings to set off the black lower body treatment, a one year, one model only piece, impossible to find in OEM. Sport Satellite used full wheel lip moldings that available from '68-'70. Trunk finish panel on a '69 Sport Satellite has black paint accents, on a GTX they're red.Sport Satellite's had recessed headlights and taillights just like the GTX.
Hey, don't forget the Volare Road Runners!^^ Pretty much spells it out. It's own distinct model 68-70. Just as the Road Runner was from 68-75.

In my opinion it sure is and I explained why I think it was the promo of what came a year later. It was known as a Satellite "Sport" and even advertised today as such but like I said it was not badged as such until 68. They even shared the RP vin.. It had the same level of trim as the GTX just like in the 68-70 models did. If it's not true show me an original 67 Satellite that doesn't have the GTX trim level (only the drive train was the distinction between the two) and what you will find is only a Belvedere with-out that level of trim.That is not correct!
I agree except for the ads part. I said it was NEVER badged as such but in the car world I have heard MANY refer to it as such Satellite Sport in '67. Even in the original '67 ad they refer to it as a Satellite "sport" convertible. Like I said in my first post it was simply the beginning of when it shared the same level trim as a GTX in 68-70 and they badged it as such.I had a 67 satellite for fifteen years. I don’t recall ever seeing the word sport anywhere on any of the paperwork or ads for it. Although I have to say the term satellite sport rings a little bell. Could it have been a special edition car similar to the silver bullet?
I agree with the side trim. But that’s about it. They share a lot more in the trim level than are different. Same taillights, finish panels, grilles other than color schemes. Interior shares the same exact upholstery patterns.67 Satellite and GTX are trimmed completely different in 67. The Satellite has partial wheel well trim, and molding between the partial wheel well trim at the first body line as well as in front and back of that trim. The GTX, same body had full wheel well trim and rocker molding. Although they had a RP code the same as the 68-70 Sport Satellite they were not Sport Satellites or Satellite Sports. That RP body code is the only thing that corresponds with the 68-70 Sport Satellite. I ordered a 67 Satellite new and no mention of Sport was ever mentioned in the dealers option book. The body style at the tag office referred to the body style as Soprt Coupe on all the 67 B bodies, except the 4 doors, convertibles, and the post cars. The first time, I ever heard the term Satellite Sport was in the 90's, but I do remember the entry of the Sport Satellite in the 68 model year. View attachment 1798998

And the interior emblemsAd in post 33 does not call the car a "Sport Satellite" model.
It is referring to Satellites in general as being "sporty".
I believe in 67 Satellite and GTX interiors were identical, except for the 150 MPH Speedo.
