There is more than one length kick down arm at the trans. You may have the incorrect part. You are correct the travel of the trans arm should mirror the carb. You can cut the trans arm and size as necesary.

I'm not sure if the Edelbrock linkage adaptor matches the throw and radius of the original Carter linkage exactlyI have both out in the garage so maybe I need to measure them.
Go to the Bouchillon web site and read and look at the photos. The carb linkage and the trans arm have to match for the distanced traveled.I never was all that great in geometry class in HS. But then again I was always in the machine shop!
Hi oldkimmer this set us is rather unique as its a 340 with a high rise and Holley 3150 double pumpa in a 1970 Sprt Satellite which was originally a 318 with a 2 barrel. Yes the geometry is way different so I have had to do a lot of modifications to get the operation to have the KD follow the throttle. They do infact follow and meet at WOT at the same time as they are connected. The secondary linkage needs a little more length so at curb idle the KD can follow all the way to the end. To be honest I think its fine as I think its just slop at that point from and of the tranny.I don’t think I seen where u say if it’s a 2bbl setup or a 2 bbl setup changed to a 4 bbl or a 4 bbl setup. 2 bbl pieces are all shorter than 4 bbl pieces (even on the trans) although u can get away with mixing and matching. As u can see on ur setup that the carb and kd do not reach wot at the same time. It helps a lot to know what we’re working on. Kim
