Took the '67 out for a shakedown run to a show about 80 mi away just to make sure we are "good to go" for Carlisle in 2 weeks. First the good news, the car ran great and no issues with the front end upgrade. The not so good news, turns out they like the GM products up in Carrol County. When you pull in they direct you to park next to the previous arrival. In the row we ended up in my "neighbors" were 6 Chevys, including 3- 67 Novas! Can hardly wait for Carlisle, won't be a Chevy in sight. Oh well, we did manage to see some cars we had not seen before.....

Thank's for shairing,[pardon the expression] i'm jelous of you yankees the car shows ya'll have are killer so many beautiful cars and in large amounts too, here in the south we don't have many shows that bring in that kind of turnout [except garlets and street rod nationals] and garlets seems smaller every year [my opinion]. Ya'll are in my auto bucket list when i retire i'm gonna travel up north and attend some of ya'lls events. Thanks for shairin again.

Thanks for the comments, as I recall, ya'll have the Turkey Run in November, Speed Week in Febuary, and the "Run to the Sun" in Myrtle Beach in March (2800 CARS), and remember, here in Maryland we are SOUTH of the Mason-Dixon line..............

You are correct sir i forgot about those, however the turkey rod run, street rod nats in my opinion are for fat fendered rods and customs [i know they now allow up to 74s i think] but i'm old school and don't think i belong there thats why at one time i wanted a 30s-40s car/truck and a 60 muscle car. And i got frowned upon before when i said this [in Virgina in the USAF] any thing above North Carolina was yankees [no offence intended] i'm just a good ole southern boy, I did not know of run for the sun gotta put that one on my bucket list.

68SptSatRagTop, Great photos, Thanks for sharing them with all of us...

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing 'em. I loved the Willys. That thing sits right and looks right. So many of 'em are built with the slammed front end. They all look nice but the old 'gasser' look is what I really like.

Great cars and photos Ken, Thanks for sharing.. new front end workin good is a plus!

Just cause its molar site and we all got them they are all history told through some kids eyes and all deserve props for the thousands of hrs put into makeing them and rebuilding them I'm not a big fan but classic iron is still just that classic and going going gone more everyday be thankfully people are still restoreing any cars these days take the kids enjoy the show and pass the love of old cars on don't be predjudice on one but on all give the next generation something other then tuners and rice burners sorry for bluntness had to say it and yes I'm a Yankee and proud of it

Dude, I have been taking my son to car shows, races, junkyards, and swap meets since he was 6 years old. He's now 25 and can talk cars with anyone. He will be driving my '67 to Carlisle for the second year in a row. He has helped with wrenching on our cars and knows his way around the late models a whole lot better than I do. He knows the amount of time and money involved in restoring cars and that to do a Mopar is not in his budget right now. All that being said, he would rather walk past 50 Camaroachs, Shevelles and Rustangs to check out a driver Mopar at any auto gathering. He learned about Mopar or No Car a long time ago..............

Damn fellas calm down i have been into cars for over 40 years and i have instilled in my boys [now 20+23] to apreciate all classic cars just like i do, i'm not brand specific i just happen to have two mopars now and plan to stay with mopars. I admit that i do have a want for a 69 camaro,40 willys, amx,t bolt fairlane clone,442 w30 ect.My oldest boy is more involved in highend super cars, tuners, late model muscle but apreciates classic muscle we are building a 73 charger presently,he has an early 50s harley bopper on deck and a 29 ford pickup ratrod in the planning stages all while going to college and holding down a fulltime job. My youngest is the mechanic knows his way around a classic car appreciates them also but has no plans of owning one at this time, he also is going to college and holding down a full time job. I do all of my own work and teach them as much as i can about older cars and cars in general, i really like tuners [not the gaudy body kit type ect.] the true tuners that are like old hotrods simple and clean well built cars they are just another form of our hobby, part of our hobby is being openminded you don't have to like or want some of the vehicles in the hobby but they all deserve to be appreciated equily [just my two cents from sombody whom lives for cars] we must keep preservin these vehicles and as loneeagle stated promote this hobby to our younger geraheads that we are the caretakers of history so that others can enjoy them. Keep salvaging and savin em ya'll.

Never said I don't appreciate other brands, just don't prefer to be buried in amongst the cookie cutter brand X bunch at the open events. I look at every car on the field and take pics of anything that catches my eye. I try to spend some time at my car and will talk to anyone about any car they have or have ever owned. As for cars I lust after, I can honestly say they are all Mopars! I guess my brand loyalty comes from my Dad who always had a Mopar for the family car, but was known to bring home the occasional Ford as a commuter car. When it came time for me and my sisters, 3 of em, to get our first cars they were never Mopars, but whatever could be had cheap and fixed up. I guess the Old Man knew what was in store for them and didn't want to see a Mopar treated like that! I started my kids out in a 98 Neon R/T (son) and 97 Sebring Conv (daughter). When it came time for my son to buy his first car, he bought a Subaru WRX wagon! Oh well, we still love him.......

Hey, Great pics Ken. Glad the front end worked out for ya. I'll also be coming up to Carlisle. Are you going to have your car in the show field ? Let me know where , and we'll catch up to ya. My sons also are car old car guys 26 and 30 now. Guess its in the blood.

I'm the only one in my entire family as far back as anyone can remember that has been infected by the car bug. My father liked Fords and nascar but did not know anything past the gas cap or steering wheel,my oldest son prefers Fords but likes all brands [i joke that defects skip a generation]. I know the feeling i went to an open show and my cuda and a roadrunner were swimmin in a sea of corvettes/camaros/stangs. My biggest gripe is when we have to compete against modern muscle cars [including challengers] cause the show promoters don't divide up the years so it's fair for everyone, those shows i don't attened a second time,we also have some promoters that don't like mopars at all [beleve that] mopars never get nothing. But for me this hobby is not for trophys but like you 68 i look at the field take photos of the cars [for my facebook car page] and hang around my car and talk to folks. I go to garlets to look for parts [never took a car there] and i only walk the a body line [looking for barracudas/valients] and the b body line [lookin at 71-74 chargers] i like them all but only intrested in what i'm workin on currently.
