Limit Vacuum Advance Arm Travel Distance

Trying to limit the travel on Mopar big block distributor vacuum advance arm.
I have tried the band aid metal piece and wrapping the wire around shaft arm to limit amount of travel movement both don't work very well.
Is there an easier way ??

We have been in touch. Best I have is A 9.5

Slot the hole where the advance unit sets on the plate. That way when the arm starts it's travel it won't move the plate until the end of the slot contacts the pin.
