Look what I found hiding behind a fence

Well over a year later and the car is still there. I just checked on it again this weekend. Since we last discussed this car, I changed jobs and now work in Waco, Texas, north of where I live, so I don't get to Temple that often. I kind of forgot about the Charger, but thought I would take a look since I was in the vicinity. Looks just the same as it did. :angry1:

Think I'll give the ol' guy another call, if I can remember what his name was. :dontknow:

About 30 years ago as I drove a new stretch of road I noticed the grill of a 68Cuda behind some berry bushes. 3 days later I stopped and knocked on the door and an older man answered it. I asked him about the Cuda and he told me that it belonged to his son who now lived out of state. I asked if I could look at the car and he told me I could. I spent about an hour there pulling berry bushes out and clearing the area around the car. The car turned out to bw a 340 Formula S 4-speed car and it had been wrecked on the left front fender which also damaged the grill, hood, valance and bumper.

I went back to the house and knocked again and asked the gentleman if he would mind contacting his son to see if he was interested in selling the car and with that I left him my number. About 2 months went past and to tell you the truth I had given up on it, but the call came in. The son had come home for a visit and asked me to come over to talk with him. To make a long story short.....when the car had been wrecked he had bought all new factory parts, not only the parts needed for the repair but also all new glass, tail lights and rear trim panel and he also had 2 spare 68 340 engines and a transmission. He saw aht the weather was doing to the car and knew that if something wasn't done soon it would be junk...I bought the car with all of the parts for $1800.00, repaired it with all new parts and installed the new tail lights and trim panel. Sometimes all you need to do is ASK......

Don't call...stop and ask if you can have his son's number. IF the son is honest with himself he will talk with you about it.

Looks like it has sat there at least 15 years with the way the rims are almost into the ground! too bad, I would say the son story is probably not even true it's probably his car he just diverts attention elsewhere!!
