you better look that car over carefully......... especially underneath and in the back, and around the rear window..... I think there may be a serious can of worms hiding in there

if someone can't make filler stick, I doubt they can do much else in the form of a "resto"........ and filler along the drip rail? I smell a rusty roof due to a previous vinyl top

Fender tag is gone how do you know what is suppose to be on this car then the vin

Well Gobie, here is my 2 cents. Those with more knowledge may be able to better answer some of your questions but that is why we come here, right? ;-) Anyway...without a fender tag, to my knowledge, it will be hard to know 100% sure what the car came with out of the factory. Only exception that I am aware of is IF the owner has a build sheet for it, which he may or may not and I suspect not. The VIN will give you a rough idea of what the car was (RR, GTX, Satty, etc) but not give you particulars on options. So with that, I would say take the car as it is: A B-body, BB, 4 speed car that looks okay. Now the other questions you ask are more germane to THIS car: What does YOUR gut tell you about it? Look it over, objectively, and do you notice anything that doesn't look 'right'. Does the car whine while driving or grind into gears? Is the engine running on all 8? How well does it go down the road? Is the steering okay or does with wander like a lost soul. Will it stop somewhat decent or do you really have to pray it will stop. Will it move under its own power okay or do you have to coerce it to get going. Then I'd say look in the trunk for rot. Look UNDER the car at the floor pan and frame rails for sure. Do you see holes or bad rust scale where there shouldn't be any? Lightly rap the quarters with your hand and see if they sound like steel or mud? Sight line it, does it look okay or does the body look like a wash board? Again, you have to be objective if you can. From what I see, the paint looks rough on it and I would suspect a good paint job can easily run you 5 grand although I have a friend who's paint job ran 10K, so keep that in mind. It does look like a decent car from the few pix I saw BUT like with anything, the Devil hides and he can be an expensive SOB to get rid of with these older cars. Plus you can always go low and come high but you can't go the other way. If your gut and what you see gives you hesitation, then walk away IMO.

No fender tag huh? In general, unless a car is a hell of a bargain I would avoid buying it without a fender tag or build-sheet, even a Sport Satellite.

I just picked this up for $27900. 69' Satellite. The paint is an 8.5-9 out of 10. No rust or any body repairs that I can tell from looking under the fenders and body. It's a 383 with column automatic.

I'll have fun with it and if someone offers me more than I have into it at a car show I'll sell it and buy another.

I think 20k is a little high for something that needs that much work but I also don't know a lot about these cars. This is my first mopar.

agree on 20K is high for a car with body work coming out and holes in the sheet metal, plus no fender tag, especially when the 4 speed is part of the value and if it's not as built looses half of it if not more.

Is it an RP23H, 4 barrel car, at least?

Yes it is with a 4sp and comes with the original 383 commando motor has a 69 383 in it now

Thanks. Remember there are other things besides body work you'll be spending money on. thats why I tried to find a solid car. Even though I spent that much I've already had to replace a brake line and I'll be ordering 4 new shocks soon. I want to save up for a disc brake swap, performance upgrades. It's easy to sink money into any old car.

hard to say what is under that shiny paint. might not be anything...might be a costly adventure...check it out very carefully. good luck!
