a friend of mine went and looked at a 66 hemi block and matching auto tranny in MI, he didnt buy it because they couldn't agree on the price, I will talk to him today and see if he still has the guys contact info. His plans were to buy a real 66 hemi coronet from some guy in canada (no motor in it) for $23K then get the motor for X amount, and it didn't work out that way, I am actually not sure if he couldnt get the guy selling the car to meet his price or the motor, almost positive it was the motor because he had a company all lined up to ship the coronet from washington state to the east coast for $1200.

There is one for 15k that is complete minus carbs looks to be a fresh motor on the sfbayarea craigslist if you search on 1970 challenger RT the guy has the car and in the ad shows the motor and asking price. I know for a fact it is 66 motor note sure of exact date codes but its a lead.

I live in new jersey and there's one in philadelphia pa for 10k... casting date 0ct 66... i know it's a little far but hope that helps
