Ok, this question is 2-fold. First off I am looking for any info on hooking a hydroboost up on my '66 Satellite. I currently have manual disc/drums with a cam that would never produce enough vacuum to fill a pop can. I have a hydroboost that is like new, but not certain which ports are in/out, to gear box/pump/etc. Anyone have pictures or instructions from a kit that are willing to share? Next question, I have a Type II (yes, the GM type) power steering pump that I would like to see if I can put on my 440. I have no A/C and already factory power steering and would like to find a bracket someone has used in the past to put a Type II pump on a big block with v-belts. The pump isn't a huge deal if it never works out, but if I get the resources needed to attach it to my 440 I would like to do at the same time as the hydroboost. Any pictures, instruction sheets or words of wisdom are welcome. Thanks! Jim

No one at all??? C-mon guys, so many awesome projects going on with MEGA custom fabrication and no one has any idea how to put a hydroboost on a Mopar or ideas to put a Type II pump on a big block Mopar??? The hydroboost I can figure out, just hoping someone has seen or modified a custom bracket off of another engine type.

Sorry, wish I knew more. I've thought about doing this, and do have a small hydroboost but may not use it. You can Google this and find "generic" info. The smaller units like off the Astro van seem to be "the one.

440roadrunner, I do have an Astro van booster already. I just wanted to get the correct hydraulic routing info. I've checked internet but it's not much help. I did get info from another great member who PM'd me, but still nothing on the power steering pump. I'll check out the link you attached as well. Thanks, Jim

Well it's looking like no one has ideas of how to mount a Type II p/s pump on a BBM. I figured I would have seen it by now, without the $3000 pulley kits of course.

It may be easier to install a vacuum pump and use a vacuum booster which I am guessing is readily is available. Diesel vehicle often use vacuum pumps to power the brake booster as a diesel has no throttle plates and does not generate any vacuum in the intake. Just a different route to explore.

I just finished Hydroboost on the Dart 440 as well as putting a Chevy Hydroboost unit on my '92 Dodge W250 Cummins. I haven't been able to use it out but here is some info I came across.

This link has a schematic for a Ford Mustang but a Dodge/Chevy system will be the same.

On both systems the outboard (driver side) flare port went to the steering gear and the inboard (passenger side) flare port went to the high pressure side of the steering pump. It was the same for both the Chevy and the Ford hydroboost units.

Also I know it is a little late but a hydroboost from an '01 Mustang is a good fit for my '62 Dart. I think the pedal assembly is different but if your width is the same you can drill one hole in the plate/firewall and make a push rod and the unit will bolt in. You do need custom hydro hoses though.

I'm good with building the hoses, and can even figure out the fittings needed. I just wanted to confirm the routing of each hose. I also have given thought to adding an extra fitting to the power steering pump reservoir so I don't have to "T" the lines. You shouldn't have sent me the link to Factory Five either mnnathan, I've wanted an FF car for years, now you got me dreamin' again!
