Have you pulled the back seat yet? Look under the rear bench. They have also been found under the carpet. Not too sure about the GTX's but some of the earlier cars had them on top of the glove box. Good hunting.

I actually found mine in the rear seat back on my '68 GTX. First noticed it when I climbed in the trunk for something and there it was, staring me in the face.
I've found mine in the same place. Tucked between the springs of the back seat bench in my 68 GTX. I would say that's a usual place for them. Try the under springs on all the seats. If your car was previously owned - which it sounds like it was - the original/previous owners may have already taken it and not passed it on.
