Driver.....?

Can you really drive a car like that though? Daily?


The point of investing the time, effort and money into a car like that is not to build a "daily driver". If that is your intention then a clone, or tribute car would be much less expensive.

I would classify that car as "Automotive art history". Best to preserve.

The car does seem to be a bit over restored. I don't remember my new 69 A12 being that nice. I also perfer the blacked out core support but have seen originals with body color there.


As far as value...... Here we go again...... If the car shakes out to be as nice as represented I think the value is way north of 125K. Go find another one.....!!
 
That makes no sense to me. I can understand if its 100% original, never been touched and only 1 of 10 ever produced. But to me the beauty in a car like that is driving it.
A well maintained car can go for ever but I guess thats my question and you answered it.
If you drop that kind of money do you drive them and the answer is no I guess.
I would have to show that bad boy off every chance I get. But then it wouldnt be a show car. If I can afford to buy it then I'm going to drive it. But I've never dropped that kind of coin on a car before either so I guess I dont know what I would do...LOL
 
Well.....another "frame off" unibody mopar restoration. Boy that has to be a pain in the rear.

Wanting over six figures for a car....must have spent so much he can't afford the windex and a rag to dust off the dash. Nice touch to the selling pic's.

For that much money I would rather buy 3 or 4 really nice daily drivers that I actually could have some fun in. As for a car like this 1, I can just look at the pictures & it wont cost me a thing

I agree with you 100%. I'm a driver also,
But there are many aspects of the collectable car hobbie/world and collecting cars for their ecstatic value is one of them.

One of my favorite annual car shows is "Eyes on the Classics" held in Michigan, Entries by invitation, Cars of all sorts are parked in the beautiful setting of Henry Ford's "Fairlane" estate grounds. It is mandatory that vehicles are displayed with hoods, doors and trunk lids closed. Judges are automotive stylists, designers, engineers and exec's and the cars are judged souly on their design appeal. It is concidered a privalege to participate and a great honor to receive an award.
Most of the cars, (including several rare Mopars), are trailer queens that are rarely, if ever, driven.... But the pride of ownership is very evident.

Most of us here, including myself, have not reached the level of expendable income to enter the world of six figure vehicles and find it hard to understand that mindset. But those cars are looked upon as art forms, and are being preserved as such. I for one am happy to see that.

I'll go look, marvel and enjoy.... then drive my 65 Coronet home.

I respect the other end of the spectrum with the hollywood cars and the time/money/thought invested, but I'm happy just where i'm at....Who wants to go cruisin!!!
 
Hey ETM, or, ETA "Ack Ack", I too noticed this car weeks ago, and, also noticed how these areas should be flat black and are not! The cool thing about this car is the Q5 color, which happens to be the original color of my 69 GTX, and will return to that color too!

Yup, sure enough, my FY1 70 Superbee is faded black in the front.
 
if i had the extra 125K plus to blow on a hemi 71 charger R/T , i would drive it in the rain and look for mud puddles
