So i put the tf2 kit into my 904 a while ago and it sat till i got the front end and brakes sorted. I am just now to a point where i can drive it a bit...im 100% positive i have full throttle and TV set to all the way back at full throttle.
Regardless of throttle position...my auto shifts happen about 2500-2800.
There is no overlap...both shifts are crisp.
Thoughts?

If the governor is stuck it usually won't shift. If the kick down is ok My bet is that a mistake was made installing the TF 6 kit. I'd pull it apart and carefully inspect your work.

Only thing i can think of is maybe i left the PR adjustment too loose?
I remember turning it till the spring retainer just touched the cage...which is the recommended setting for street.
I was able to sneak the included plain spring under the accumulator(?) piston...and as far as the VB plate...it already had holes in the max recommended size. I might have ground off a few extra thousandths on the VB piston...but aside from that it was textbook.

What does the throttle valve arm/linkage fell like when you push it back by hand? Does it have spring resistance? Was anything else apart besides the valve body?

There is definitely springyness to the lever..tranny stayed in the car...i pulled the VB and worked it on the bench

I always turn the line pressure adjustment in so a 5/16" drill(or pan bolt) fits between adjuster and cage. This is using stock spring. Can go to 3/8" . Putting lighter governor weights in will help. A&A Transmissions sell these.

Wow....that much? Instruction sheet said only 4 turns for "full race shifts"..

Anyway its sliced...i guess the pan comes back off:praying:

That is the adjustment I use with a stock line pressure spring. If the shift kit has a custom spring here, then all bets are off.
