I bought a repop cover and it has a gap of about 1/8" from the lower dash panels. See orange circle in picture. I compared it to a broken original and mounts the same. No real way to get this wrong.

Is this normal? It is semi flush at the bottom and not bad.

Normal nope. Should be up flush

Maybe you have one for non rallye dash

According to all of the parts sites, the one I have is correct for a rallye dash. See attached. The first is a Rallye dash and the second is for Non rallye. Plus in my picture, the opening matches the opening in the dash panels. Using the non Rallye piece, it would not match up.

The nut clips only fit where there are holes. I might be able to get closer but it is 1/8" away from mating up.

Your right, I just looked at the non rallye one I installed last month. Never knew the difference but now I see the opening is different. Maybe return it and try a different vendor.

Seems like some of the Repro stuff getting pretty bad

The clips may slide upward...loosen screws and give it a light push from the bottom. If this does not work you may be able to remove the clips and elongate the holes in plastic mating pieces to slide it up a bit.

Thanks I will give it a shot. The original I have that is cracked, fits quite a bit better on the sides but still just a bit short. The repop is a mess. I'll give the original a shot of SEM black and see if I can adjust. Both covers have alignment pins on the back which will limit the upward travel. May have to grind those off and they seem like overkill to me anyway. I'll post pics in a day or so

Thanks.

To close this out. I used an original different color cover panel and painted it black. There still is slight evidence of the crack at the bottom. The fit was much better and especially along the sides. Compare this to the picture on the first post. The original will still not go flush to the top of the lower dash panels but now I know why. Looking at the second pic, there is a radius or ramp and if the cover plate goes up any higher, it will start to protrude out. Not sure why the ramp is there, but it is what it is.

In conclusion, the repop cover plates are garbage.
