Could you not buy the ribbed ones and then box the sides and pour clear resin over. Flat and polish after ?

That was my thought as well, however as noted in the previous post, the actual shape of the chrome portion appears different as well.
Maybe not enough where anyone would notice or care but there does appear to be a difference.
