M/T Valve Covers-Thought I'd share!

Thank you for the lovely compliment!!! (I don't do high temp ceramics anymore. It's kind of overkill for engine parts outside of exhaust applications.)

@Bigtime, you can tell pretty quickly if your Mickeys are true vintage. Look inside; if it says Made In Japan they're repops from the 80s.

Well, looks like I got the '80's version....they are made in Japan. Oh, well...I can li with a 30+ years pair.

They do look good. Not wanting to be a "Negative Nancy" but the sanding marks in the bare areas could have been eliminated. Looks like they used a 2" Scotch pad. They come in finer grits and going across the surface slowly will leave minor scratches that can be flat sanded with a finer grit paper to get rid of them totally. If they weren't clear coated, maybe they could take it one more step to make them perfect. Jmo

I bought these from a member on here. Sorry I lost my info on who it was. They are Cal Customs that were in good shape.

Had to do some polishing to get rid of some minor corrosion then some machine work to be able to use the right gromments.

They look super! The Cal Customs I was able to find [scarce it seems] were pretty ragged and $$$.

i'm with u guys , M'T's covers clear all rockers and look great in the process, a timeless classic,i'm trying out cometics dual silicone bead gaskets on these covers,,they had the typical lite corrosion on them..SOS pad,then 2000 grit sand paper,and then to the buffer...

The ones I had in the 90's were the first thing I ever put in the oven after painting the wrinkle paint.

Came out decent.

I put a brand new pair of the crinkle black and aluminum M/T s on the 440 in my 71 Charger R/T....back in 78/79...
They leaked!

I bead blast all mine and paint them with regular single stage urethane. Polished look nice but high maintenance. This pair was done 16 years ago.

You have a super looking motor! I am a huge t-ram fan too. Had one on a'55 Chevy that I raced in the '80's....BTW, that was before I saw the MOPAR "light"! LOL!
