Made in USA, Really?

I’ve got the Lokar set-up in my Charger. Throttle and Trans. It’s nice. I bought the Amazon throttle cable for my Olds 442.
It worked, but there was an over-all quality difference in the little pieces. The Amazon was like an old bootleg movie. It looked like what I wanted, but wasn’t quite the same.

Can we start a petition that Tony needs to use both hands simultaneously to hold his video camera while recording?
I'm not Italian and I don't read or need sign language.

I did see thie video earlier today.

The P/O of my car had trimmed the Lokar cable a bit too much and there was ugly fraying, so I wanted to replace the inner cable, which you seemingly can't buy separately from Lokar.

So decisions were made to get one of the "Amazon specials" that Tony speaks of. Well, I can say 100% that while they may appear similar, they are in no way the same.

The inner cable of the Amazon unit is thinner and WAY more flimsy than the Lokar one. While this Amazon cable still resides on my ride, one day it will be replaced.

I'm not sure how he thought they could be the exact same thing. I have liked Tony's videos in the past and I do subscribe, but I don't always agree with his analysis and the rants are annoying.

He's making serious allegations without substantiation, based merely on what he "thinks".
In all fairness in this context if it's all so very obvious this is only what he "thinks", his "allegations" are only as damaging as the listener wants them to be at their choosing.
Same for "serious" IMO.

Before you slam Jegs and Lokar Id like to see all 3 kits in a side by side comparison. Not just making up assumptions and using online pics and one Amazon kit. That's just plain stupid.

Not according to the FTC : Marketers are now subject to civil penalties if they use an unqualified Made in USA label on a product that is not “all or virtually all” made in the U.S., including in catalogs or online.

I just checked Amazon and they have the one Tony bought, which states it is made in China. He does not have a valid reason to complain, in this case.

You watch the video? He’s asking Lokar if they are buying bulk from China and simply assembling contents and marking it made in USA.

The problem I have is his freak out over the Lokar price.
Then he see's how cheap he can get one and is disapointed with the quality.
(Where have I heard this before?)

I'd like to see him produce this item, in the quantities supported by the Mopar hobby, at high quality, with the capabilities to fulfill and ship orders.
And then tell us how much he has to charge to make a profit, which is the reason to be in business.

Just another half baked, ill-informed video, as I've come to expect.

Mass media has made it possible for people to make money on nonsense like this, (along with actors and musicians), where previously they would be nocking around for food money.

So now your position is the "serious allegations without substantiation" Tony was making "based merely on what he thinks" has changed and is now actionable by FTC just to be clear?

I don't have a "position". I'm not making an argument. Just mentioning he's inferring Lokar and Jegs importing china-made products, and Jegs promoting same as Made in USA. IF Jegs is actually doing so, that is subject to penalty by the FTC.

If he ordered from Lokar or Jegs, which both say made in USA, and the parts he received said made in China, then he would have a point. That is not what happened, and his thinking is seriously flawed.

He never actually complained about the quality (that I saw), only the cost that he apparently never noticed before. He then fixates on a "Made In The USA" logo that he didn't find on Lokar's page, it was on JEGS.

Then after seeing the Amazon unit he goes off on a rant about what he sees as being price gouged by Lokar for a product that he claims is "exactly the same" as the china knock-off from Amazon, then accuses Lokar of not making their products in the USA, with zero facts.

BUT!!! If Lokar is willing to show him their USA plant, he will make an apology video and buy Lokar products. This is his safety net for being a douchebag.

Tony was great a couple years ago, lots of great Mopar content, but he has turned into a sour old man, yelling at clouds, building junk no one cares about.

As someone who actually ordered one of the knock-offs, the FIRST thing that was blatantly obvious was that the inner cable was about as rigid as a piece of cooked spaghetti, compared to the Lokar which was thicker and more like uncooked spaghetti.

It works. But. One is not like the other.

Exactly. Guy is a jerk-off as he is not comparing the other 2 companies by what they are selling ONLY by what he bought from Amazon so for another $280 he could have made his point by having each one side by side to compare. I guess this guy never heard that China DUPLICATES American products and resells them for pennies. China is number one in the world for intellectual theft.
