Hello, I've got 15x8 with 275s on all four corners of my 70 Charger and I think it looks good. I know it drives great.

The wheels are 8" with 4 1/2" B.S. That is close to the factoy color as the body man said he could get. Thanks, Kent.

Fronts are 15x7 with BFG 235/60/15 and rears are 15x8 with BFG 275/60/15 no issues and fit great.

Everybodies' cars look amazing! Thanks for all the replies too. I have determined that I am most likely going to go with 15x8s all around, and I was pretty sure I was gonna go with 295s rear and 245s front, but due to a few recent posts, I am now torn. Any arguements for or against? Also, Anybody know the best place to pick up a set? Local, Paddock/Year One, Ebay? And my bolt pattern with drums is 5 on 4.5 correct? And one last thing (sorry!), what is goin on with the bracket that my leaf spring bolts to? should I just hack off everything that I'm not using? It scrapes speed bumps and they look terrible. I want my car to be as gorgeous as all yours! helppppp!! Thanks guys

Here's a good video. The 15x8 fill out the quarters really nice. That's what I'm going with on my 70 RR

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOJGUiU78cQ

This Charger has been updated with some brand new 15x8 Magnum 500 wheels and BFG tires. (295/50/15 in back and 245/60/15 up front) This beauty sits right and drives tight

haha thanks! i think thats the ONE!

Yes they are Crager SS But I'm not a big fan of unilug.
I was looking at the 500's on Summit.
The center caps is the killer pricewise.
Thanks And Good Luck

I found a rear leaf spring shackle set on ebay that is pretty affordable. its just supposed to be a quick fix for now. I have a couple questions: Is it difficult to replace these shackles? Is this a decent part to install in place of my adjustable shackles and will they fit my Charger?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/390530859258?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

One more question: Any guesses on how close to stock these will make my car sit, and will it look okay?

year one has a sale on set's of 500's (less than $800) THE SIZES ARE 17'S MIGHT GIVE THAT SOME INVESTIGATING IF YOU WANT A NICE SET--i GOT 15x7 OIN MY 67 X IF THE 17's HAD BEEN AVAILABLE THEN THAT WHAT I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN--MORE TIRE SIZE OPTION--15 ARE GETTING HARD TO FIND 3/8" (COKER ONLY) GOOD LUCK AND THINK THIS WHEEL THING THROUGH BEFORE YOU SPEND GOOD LUCK IN THE END PICTURES WHAT EVER YOU DO.

You can get oem shackles from Year One pretty cheap and they will look better than those long ones,I just bought my Magnum 500s from Ebay but they are actually from Summit. If you buy from Ebay they have sets of 2 or 4,I got 15x6 front and 15x8 rear, just search magnum 500 wheels.shackles arent to hard to replace.

EDIT:

I thought the pictures were too large for this site but see the ones I started to load show up here. see the link below for more pictures of the car/wheels-tires.

Here is a link to some pictures of Chargers with Magnum wheels. There are pictures of my red 68 Hemi Charger I used to own in this thread.

These Chargers have a HUGE rear wheel wells and will take a big rear tire. The tires I had on the charger were 275R/60sX15s or maybe 70 series as I don't recall for sure as it has been several years since I owned this car. I believe the fronts were 235R60X15s and that is about as big as you can go without having rub problems when turning sharply.

Thanks for the info no462of12K, I hear ya. Definitly dont really want to regret the decision of 1200 dollars worth of wheel & tire. I'll definitly post pix!

I just checked out the shackles on Year One, about 37 each plus shipping. I do like those much better, but on ebay theres a set of Prothane shackles for 42 w/free shipping. I think they may even come with the front bushings as well. I'm kinda torn. I'd like to save money but I would rather have repro. That was something else I wanted to ask. Ebay seemed to be the best deal I could find for a set. I was eyeing a set of 15 x 8s all four.

Thanks red 69 runner!

@696Pack, very nice, and thank you. That Charger 500 (now my wallpaper) has the stance and look that I am looking for.

Okay guys, thank you all so much for your experiences, advice, and pictures. I have come up with two sizes that I am torn between, and both are on 15 x 8 all aound. I like the look of 295/50 on back with the 245/60 up front, and I also really like the 275/60 back and 235/60 front. But what do you guys think of a 275/60 rear and a 245/60 front? I could save a little bit of money if I went that route, assuming it will look good. From what I gather, the 295/50 will be fatter than the 275/60, correct? Even though it has a shorter sidewall, the 295/50 should be close to the 275/60, but fatter overall?

I really like the rears here kdtjb, but I would like the fronts a little bigger:

275/60/15 rear and 235/60/15 front

peter j, I really like how the rear wheel/tire sit, but the front is a little too big for me:

275 front and rear

View attachment 103883

And 696pack I like how this looks but kdtjb has the same setup and the fronts look smaller, although I do think the front tire is a little low in his pic:

"275R/60sX15s or maybe 70 series" rear and 235R60X15s front

Some times I have put 245/60/15 on the front with the same 275/60 15 on the rear. I never put anything shorter than 28" tall on the rear & try to stay between 26 & 27 on the front. 26.5 is a good size. Hope this helps you out, and don't confuse the issue. But (because my tape measure is in inches) I look up the tire sizes & see how tall they are in inches to get where I want to go.

Snow day and I was stuck inside ALL day.

Thanks kdtjb it does help out very much, thats probably what I'm gonna go with.

In the meantime, I did some (pretty bad) photoshopping. Who needs money and hard work when you have a computer?
