hi y'all ,I read a thread and the fellow suggested Chevy valve springs on the magnum head.Rich Eriburg from Mopar ,gave a complete break down of what you needed to have for the install.he did mention that if you get a jeep grand Cherokee you will be set. This particular engine has the correct springs ,lifters and valve keepers. if i missed something or have misunderstood then please someone set the record straight.
I am doing the conversion on my 340 and converting it to be fuel injected again using a Jeep harness and PC . I will be hopefully running a stage 1 of the purple shaft for my engine and hopefully be able to get it to run no problem as i mean with the idle and driveability .best of i am disabled ,and I am restoring my 73 Charger Rallye from Arizona ,on a spit and sitting on my walker so i can one day to drive my beloved dream car that i have wanted since i was 13..:hello2:

Use the valve spring recomended by the cam shaft grinder/company. Just get on the phone with them and tell'em your useing Magnum heads. They'll set you up.

The term Chevy valve springs is IMO somewhat in-accurate since there more commonly known as beehive valve springs for there shape, not so much because Chevy use's them.

You'll need custom length "Hollow" pushrods for this. They cost no more than a quality set. You can call Huges engines .com it if need be and talk to them. They make it simple to do. They'll send you a tool and instructions on how to use it and measure with it. Send it back to them and they'll send you a set of pushrods ready to rock and roll.

Thanks for the info ,does anyone out there use the triple plate head gaskets when they are using this combo on the LA based block.Have you read the part in the MOPAR MAG ,there tech editor and head wrench .I am also converting to fuel injection from a jeep as well.I will keep posted on the set up ...

triple plate head gaskets

Never head of that description, but, IMO, a Magnum head on a "LA" block can use a typical "LA" head gasket. Thickness and bore of gasket is something you need to look up and be aware of what your getting. Otherwise, it's been done like that before.
