I would like to know if 68-69 hi-po exhaust manifolds(2806900 & 2843992) will fit on my 440, 727 trans equipped 1963 Polara 500. Has anyone ever tried this? Of coarse I'm sure I would have to have header pipes fabricated but I'm concerned with clearance problems in the engine compartment.

I used those exh. manifolds on my 64 dodge with 440 engine. I was surprised to find that the left side was easier to install than the right side. Prolly because the engine is off center to the right. I was not able to use the correct studs and nuts. on the right. I had to improvise with shortened studs and regular bolts. Scratched the he** out of my newly painted right shock tower. It might be best to bolt on the manifolds before you install the engine........................MO

Hmmmm, forgot about the mounting studs. My engine is already in the car, have to think about this a little. Thanks

If your engine isn't all hooked up! Use an engine hoist too lift it up as far as possible no need to unbolt the rear tranny mount. Undo the rad. hoses! You should be able to hang the manifold then! Screw the shoulder bolt on to the stud and screw it into the head. I used the longer studs and nuts on the middle locations! Cheap insurance would be to use gaskets also! thread sealer too.
