Maltese Cross.

Ok.
I'm wondering if the original block they came off of had a undersized crank and the worker with the Maltese cross stamp went overboard. That area on the head is exposed up front, not covered by the manifold.
Agreed, you could see it. The original crank was .010 under. Just that there is no stamp on the pad for that... think they put it there instead?

This is what factory did to undersized cranks. If it doesn't have these bet someone had it cut. Right to left (M is hard to read) M5 R 56 78 all .001 under.

sometimes the dealership marks them because of a warranty issue. cause if it comes back again during the warranty period and has same problem they replace it. then shows back up at factory to find out why

The original crank had all of that on it. I just wanted to know why the marks are on the heads and not on the pad.
