Hello FBBO.

In May of 2009, my cousin, Prine, told me of a '69 Coronet he found in a little West Texas town on his way home to New Mexico. A few weeks later, I went to see it for myself. I began to save and plan for a 'new' coronet project. Every time I had the cash, the ebb and flow of life and family took priority. Finally, the MOPAR gods smiled down upon me and I had the opportunity I had been waiting for.

Now I that I have it home, I can get to work assessing the situation.

I have to thank My father, Jimmy(who you can see has just a hint of a smile) for all his help and guidance..... As well as Prine & Willy442. Thanks for everything!

Obviously I have some rust repairs to do. I look forward to it.

What makes a fender rust up like that? I think that the Rh fender has been replaced at some point along with the driver door. Which is from a 70 Sport Sat.

Congrat's on your buy Martin. Looks like you have your work cut out for you, but a good project indeed.

I plan on using this 2009 5.7. Here the Ramcharger/Air Grabber air cleaner is mocked up on a holly carb. It will Look Sik. Still nothing I know of to controll the variable cam timing.... Maybe by the time I get ready to use it someone will have developed an ECU to controll this. If not I'll just have Inertia weld up the cam phaser and cam gear.....

Just one of the numerous joys of not being able to leave things alone.....

Hell Yeh Cuz!!! Congrats once again.

Overall it looks like a great foundation. I am stoked for you.

Cant wait to go for the Maiden Voyage!

could have been a rats nest. My trunk lid got rusted out from the inside by it.

Thanks Cuzn. I spent an hour or so pulling the seats out and lookin' her over. More work than I expected in places and less in others...Found some old shot gun shells in and under the front seat.

You will have that Duster goin' long before I get this one up, but I still want to show you my 'high speed tail light function'.

I'm 'stoked'. It will be slow going. But some go is better than none. It's real now...

Nice project, I am working on a 69 Coronet myself. Good luck with it and have a happy journey. Here is a little taste of my project.

Martin, why is there a 70 door vin tag on that car. Its a 69 car with a 70 vin sticker.:werd::confused::icon_rolleyes:
i'd check the dash vin and fender tag as well.:idea1:

Nice! Yeah, or it was a salt road car to get such extensive and complete rust penetration like that in the frame rail and fender. Looks like it will need to BEE completely media blasted, I know a good source for this; haha. Nice find! Looking forward to seeing it progress.

Thanks. Your project is inspiring. I hope I don't end up doin' as much as you...

I finally got the trunk cleaned out and it is about what I expected with only a couple surprises. Rearwindow corners are about as expected.

Heh, I noticed that too... I suspect that the original door was damaged at some point and replace with the '70... who knows.

Yea, I bet you know somebody that is really good at blasting, With great prices for Mopar folks too.....lol:icon_axe:

Dad and I were sayin' the same thing about the road salt earlier today. It does have a nice coating of rust all over; inside and out.

Your services may be needed....... in time. It looks like the best thing for me to do is take it down to the unibody and put it on a rotisory.:idea1:

Do you happen to know a guy named Sam that runs or used to run a printing business in Seguine? I bought 2 Super Bee's from him in '97.

Progress will be slow. But that is how it is. All I can do is save my pennies and be patient. I tell you what though, I am so happy to have another '69 Coronet. Every time I come home and see it, I just Smile the biggest **** eatin' grin you ever saw. I am totaly 'stoked' as Prine says...

:icon_syda: I love it!

That guy Sam used to be in north Austin area, didn't know he was in Seguin too, or before/after his Austin stint?

I dunno. I think his last name is Davis..... But I cant recall. He was into Super Bees. Good Guy. I bought alot of stuff from him back in the day.

Memories... Circa 1997.

Im thinking of painting the T7 car the same "exotic r6" red... I was about 19 or 20 in those pics. I gotta long way to go to get back to that point. But it will be just as special to me when I do. Seems like it has been and will take forever... It's like a friend of mine says, "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." I wanted to post these pics so that the FBBO community would know where I've been to get a better sense of where I'm going...
