How did you get the 2nd line into the distribution block? I thought the block was different for a dual M/C and had the prop valve built into it.

Drum brakes doesn't have a proportioning valve. They just use a distribution valve. If you are keeping the drums you can by pass the distribution valve and connect the rear brake line directly to the MC and keep the front lines just like they are. Just plug the hole in the distribution valve for the rear line. This can be done on disk brakes also but you need to install a adjustable proportioning valve in the line going to the rear.

Yes ga66mopar ,that is exactly what i have done

Thanks for the info.

I'm doing my swap this weekend, but plan on using all I can from the donor 5th Ave, including the valves. Nice to know there is a backup plan. I would really rather NOT use an aftermarket prop valve.

Interestingly enough, I've been watching a 65 Ford stepside, that's been at the back of a "buy here, pay here" lot for about 5 years. It's solid, but ugly and missing the grille and light buckets. Price on the window is $650.

Does your friend have a site or pics on his resto? I'd love to get some info on this, as I think it would be a cool project. I've owned a couple Fords, but don't know interchange, like I do Mopars, (IE, what to use for disk conversion).

Of course, I noticed this truck about a week after I sent my mom's old, runing, driving 85 Crown Vic 5.0 to the scrapper.

Hi YYi ,my friend isnt restoring the truck. He bought it from a farmer who purchased it new and used it around the farm and has little miles on it,So he is leaving it stock, isnt that a neat story. He does want to upgrade the M/C thought.
