Hello. I am a new member with a new project I'm ready to gather parts for. I have a 1965 Coronet 500 just purchased last month and have been reading threads on this site discussing wheels and tires for the same car. Comments I've seen mention sizes with and possibly without spring relocation. I plan to keep the stock spring location. Will the 15x8wx4 or 4.5 rear spacing work with 275/60/15 tire on my stock set-up or will I have to go smaller? I do plan on having a new spring set made to accomodate the tire I can fit under the car. Thank you in advance for the feedback.

Welcome and yes, that's what mine had on when I got it and they worked fine and looked good. :hello2:

My brother picked up some Weld Pro stars that were on a 70 charger. I'm not sure of the exact width and not positive how to measure it. Seems to be 8.5 or 9" wide rims with 255 60 15" tires. Unfortunately the backspace is only 4" and the tires are very close to the wheel lip. The rear end needs to be completely gone through since the cars been sitting twenty years, so he said we'll just narrow it. I think we'll be doing disks brakes too. My brother builds custom rear end so, it'll be easy to do. I'm sure the 275 would be doable after we get it all straightened around.
