Can anyone give me the correct trunk mount battery location for a 64 Polara MW.

I have had people tell me it is the same as in the 62 - 63 MW's. Pass side of trunk, behind pass wheel well, parallel with the side of the vehicle.

Others have said it is in the rear of the trunk, pass side, parallel with the rear of the vehicle, right in front of the pass tail light panel.

WHich is correct :edgy: This is for a Max Wedge, not a Hemi.

My '64 Dodge(the Faubel car) had it parellel to the side, behind the passenger-side wheelwell and on the "flat" part of the trunk. The hold-down brackets were welded on the flat to the right of the battery and the left one was welded on the angled area to the left of the battery. I'm sure there are some variations as to the hold-down brackets' location, but I think all the MW batteries were positioned like this. Who's got pics?

Basoline - Good pic's - thanks!. I'm wondering if the placement for a 64 if different though?

Don't think there's any difference...If the sheetmetal for the trunkfloor is the same, I don't think there are differences...

The battery is mounted longitudinally, right rear of car,

On 62's battery was factory mounted in the front of the car

It was my understanding from Direct Connection several years ago that the battery was mounted in various places in the trunk of these cars although most are mounted on the right rear just as you open the trunk.
The reason being more traction due to weight transfer or a non-posi.
