Max Wedge cross ram question for those who have one.

I have an A&A repro on my 511, 10.3 to 1 comp, solid roller cam, with a pair of original 3705 750 AFB's. Once warmed up, it is no problem driving around town.

I think furyus63 and moparcleyon are correct.... this is an 'early' Mopar Performance #P5007330 max wedge crossram, maybe mid 2000's?? Casting number should show #2402726-1M. Look under the throttle linkage for the rear carb, you can clearly see the linkage recess for the Edelbrock carb. The later versions of the P5007330 have this recess for clearance on both sides (front and back really) of the carbs to prevent linkage issues. Any photo of an original production manifold that I've seen, or an A&A ( which is a more faithful reproduction than the Mopar Perf versions ) shows a very flat top plane with no recesses for carb linkage. Trying to decide whether to go resto mod or Max Wedge tribute with my '64 Polara. The big question I have is exactly how streetable is the dual quad crossram? I would not be running ridiculously high compression nor an over the top cam but something around 9.5:1 and a nice hydraulic MP muscle car cam along with an overdrive 833 and 323 gears. Strictly a weekend street car. So with a set of matched AFB's how streetable is that manifold carb combo on a mild performance 440???
Hi I'm running that set up not the factory but like it 500 strkr block eddy victormax heads with a solid schnieder 580 cam 2 600 holleys tti max exhaust with repro max manifolds 3200 stall conv. 4-30 gears with cheater sliks ,now the tires arnt the best and the gear combo thinking of going to 3-55 and radials but I have no problem on the street and soon as I hit the pump and mash the pedle it has no problems starting and it idles at about 700 rpm temp wise never seen it over 180 and I'm running a stock rad that's from a 300 that's 4 core, I say do it

Only way I'd try to run a crossram on the street would be with dual throttle bodies. Holley has a dual Sniper setup out now that could be made to work on a crossram. I used to run a crossram on my '65 Coronet but I eventually got tired of it. It looked cool but unless you keep the car in a heated garage it is a pain to start. They do look cool but I think my crossram days are behind me.

My MAX is 13.5:1 with correct Stage 1 heads, correct date coded crossram, 3705 carbs, a 300J distributor with light advance springs so it idles right down and goes to full advance when you punch it and fenderwell headers. He has the 300/300-509 cam and if you watch the video I posted 2 years ago you see how streetable he is. I try to run him on 100 octane leaded but in a pinch Sunoco 93 with a half gallon of 104 octane boost.
