Can anyone tell me the best way to install headers on the max wedge. Looking to see if there is a simple way that someone has done before or if it just plain stinks no matter what way you do it. Thanks in advance.

No simple way of doing it with the engine in the car! Looks like a nice project you've got going there! Love the 64-65 B-bodies!!

don't know if this will help .. i just installed a pair of 2inch tti step headers 65 coronet by my self 400 low deck wrapped the headers in masking tape then used plastic strech wrap 6inch meant for packing boxes then jacked the motor high as i could driver side no problem passenger side had to remove the valve cover welded on wire loom was in the way drop in from above with no room to spare could not come in from the bottom all done with 2 jack stands great looking car you have

Thanks. I just have the engine setting there. Nothing is bolted in tight. I wasn't sure if it was better to go in from the bottom or top. I hate to scratch anything especially the tti headers. I know alot of people assemble everything on the K frame then lower the car over top but I wasn't sure if the headers were installed when they did that or if there was even room to do so. I guess a little cussing and a jack / engine hoist and they'll go right in. Lol

I did my 2" TTI's on my 440 block with EZ heads when the eng went in the car. I taped blankets and fender covers on the inner fenderwells and then had a person work each header in place very carefully as I dropped the eng in my 63 Sport Fury. Ron

get the car up in the air, raise the engine up and slip them in from the bottom. worst case scenario take the torsion bars out. tti's fit fairly easily using this method.

I put mine in from bottom , car was on a hoist, piece of cake, had to take steering gear off, and slide both in same time on drivers side, take your spark plugs out, I have hood on mine, didn't try from the top

Hedman 78030's went in easily after slightly jacking the engine up off the mounts. Drivers side in from the top and passenger up from the bottom. Even used studs in the heads!

I concur with Lew. Get the car up as high as you can on stands. Drop the steering linkage from the idler arm. Put the headers in green garbage bags and slide them in from the bottom. As was said, pull the plugs and the dip stick tube first. I've never had to raise my motor off the mounts on my 63 with 2" TTIs. Hope yours goes well...
