I need help in figuring out what exactly I have. My uncle had this in a 63 savoy. It was taken out mid 70's and the car was sold. It was never started again. He tore it apart and it has been apart probably since the early 80's. Thinking of selling it. I roughly know what it is. It is complete from oil pan to air cleaners. As far as I know it has never been bored or stroked. Have all original internals and a few new items for it.

People here can tell you what you are missing in the photos to be complete. I don't know much, but it's a lot. Hopefully, linkage, internals, main caps, and everything is in boxes. Don't let anybody throw anything away before you look in the box.

Looks like you've got a 426 Max block and a pair of Stage I heads. Greg Lane's website should answer most of your questions. Greg Lane's Max Wedge and Race Hemi Pages Wandering around ebay should give you value. Depending on price if the carbs are 3447SA C3 (March '63) I might be interested. Other question is what the production date on the number pad is.

Guess I will have to do some digging. My uncle says it is a 13.5 to 1 motor. It's got triple walve springs, cylinders have valve reliefs cut in them. Thanks for the help.

11:1 and 13.5 blocks and cylinder heads were the same the pistons were different. My car was originally 11:1, the original owner was participating in the Philadelphia street wars and built it to 13.5 specs with the 63 1/2-'64 750 CFM carbs. Is there any info on the Savoy? Old registrations, invoices or copy of the title that might have the VIN?

VERY early correct maxwedge 426 block, and matching heads (286)
Intake is also early, with the smaller primary bores than the secondaries.
Do the carbs have any numbers on them? Early carbs would be 3447, with a smaller aircleaner airhorn than the later 3705 (I have a pair of 3705s, but they have no numbers on them, the little triangular carb tag is missing)
I think the 3447s have smaller primaries too, 3705s have same size primaries and secondaries.
Please show the ID pad on the top front of the block. You show me yours, I'll show you mine, lol.

@33 IMP I'll show you mine but there's nothing there! It's a factory replacement block! Even though it has the warranty disclaimer I am thinking that since the original owner worked at the dealer and was fairly successful at the track the zone office might have got him one under warranty. Or he just paid for it! I have a 3447S dated may '62 and a 3447SA dated March '63 that were in the trunk. Since my car is 4/19/63 build I am guessing the March '63 carb is correct for my car. I have a pair of 3705s on it now.

I tried buying it back before the owner passed away. So I doubt if his wife has any idea if he had kept any paperwork

But I can't show you mine because it's been in the shop for trans work since January! And I've never taken a picture of it before because there's nothing there to take a picture of! Yes, 730-1 block, 286 heads, 2/ or 3/63 casting on the intake, a 300J distributor AND original dated mufflers!
