Does anyone have pics they can share of a Savoy or Belveder/Fury with a 5" max wedge and possibly the 3-1/2" that Sled City makes now. I understand there is a project car that MoparMuscle is doing with hte 3-1/2" but I could not find it.

W&S Racing in Northern Ohio 5"

Thanks Bishop. Was that custom made to your spec? Their website lists the 4.5" scoop, no 5". Not that thats a factor, it's only another 1/2"

4eyedblond, here ya go-----go to moparmuscle.com then do a search on their site for 64 Dodge and you will see the new Sled City 3.5 inch tall max wedge scoop that everyone is talking about. Cost is $275 plus shipping.

You better have a plan to hook the center down some way because it's really going to wave at you going down the road. Just a little info from experience.

All the Sled City scoops have a built in opening center stud and the have a warranty against blow offs and cracking.

I Highly recommend Sled city scoops over W&S, I baught a HEMI AF/X off Larry from Sled city and it is Bad *** I'll post picture after I get it on my 64 Plymouth

am I missing something here..got to admit am new to the b-body scene, but, that scoop pictured is in appearance attached to the hood but the hood is not opened to the engine compartment..scoop is for the providing air to the induction system..this appears to be an air brake..

I would think you have to position the hood before cutting the hole or holes for the carb (s) Other wise you'd end up with the mess the hillbilly's did on my car. I swear they used a steak knife to cut the hole

ok..so in the end there will be a hole cut for air flow ...was not sure..have seen a many faux setup and it has never made sense to me when it is done that way..seems some builders just go for the "look", thanks for the clarification..sorry to hear your hood was botched..

Actually
NO
Per the factory and the "template" that I have and purchased "on-line" the holes are cut before the hood scoop is installed.
I promised the individual I purchased the template from that I would NOT let anyone else use it.
But you can contact him and purchase your own template.

Again, I cut mine w/out the scoop on.
PS: I purchased my 63 Dodge Polara hood scoop from "Joey" in Michigan

Yup, it's hand made aluminum like the factory did in 63.

A templete is one thing , but are your carbs where the templete says they are supposed to be? Does your car have a later k-frame? My advise is , cut the holes where your carbs are, or at least do some xtra measuring. I had a customer that relied on a templete once.

I believe Bigaadams was referring to the fiber glass hood that Bishop has a pic of. Unless I'm missing something here as well, it looks as though there is no opening cut yet.

I'm just a dumbass...
YUP, you are correct.
Glassman, thanks for that input....
Good point...
I am assuming the individual was making a Maxie as I am.
Sorry to mislead anyone.
Yup, as Glassman stated, IF you have a newer K-frame (But that sits the entire drivetrain in a different position) do as Glassman suggested.
If you are building a Maxie the original (a copy of it) template works great.
AND...I'm a dumbass so its not hard.
Good luck to all on this project.
Send pics!
