Thank you I appreciate it this car is a Time Machine for sure .This car is just awesome and takes me back to a time when it was OK to just have fun and try to scrape up some cash for the next upgrade over the weekend. Thank you for your time and effort to post pictures and updates on your project. B bodies rock and you will get lots of smiles cruising around in this time capsule.
Thanks for answering - do you think it would be Ok if I contact him out of the blue?Jon is fastbackjon@gmail.com is extremely discrete, I think he charged 45.00 many years ago.
He spescializes in decoding 66-7 Chargers and will do other 66-7 b bodies. Has a young family so is quite busy. An upstanding fellow. We personally met him at the Charger 50th in Detroit.
I'm going to be doing some mods to my engine as well after I get my racecar up and running. The car was originally my Dad's, he bought it in 1976, he restomoded it and rebuilt the engine. It's stock with '62 heads, stock 440 cam, iron intake and '69 HP manifolds. It runs great but is a pig out of the hole. I'm going to pull it, reseal it, install a Comp 280H cam, advance 4 degrees, a DP4B intake and block the exhaust crossovers. I may even put 440 Source heads on it (if I can find a good deal on a set) and switching out the stock 12inch converter for a 1800-2000 stall unit. it should sound and run pretty good . . .Ok so the next step is I’m going to rebuild the engine and see if I can get this thing to go faster I’m not doing a stoker or anything like that no MSD box I’m going old school factory parts I will balance and blueprint but no aftermarket carburetor or intake let’s see what a stock appearing car can do.
