Hi guys, i did a search but didn't see the answers.. i am going to remove my perches and redo them and the pinion angle (did them but haven't been happy with how it came out) plus i want to center my rear axle better, it's off a bit..

best place to measure on a 727? i don't know if the pan runs parallel to the output shaft..

Also, with caltracs where should i be setting pinion? -2? this is for street fun no the track, wasn't sure how much caltracs stop wrap.

Plus 2-3, Why are you centering axel? Pumpkin is intentionally offset.
Pumpkin isn't the issue, when it did it last time i thought i would be smart and do one side at a time so it would stay centered (the axle housing itself) well when i got done i was wrong and it's off to one side a bit, and with my size tires i have like 1/4" of space between the tire and spring on the drivers side and bout 1/2" on the passenger which is just annoying. Plus i didn't do the pinion angle properly and i believe that's my vibration, was just gonna shim it but might as well fix both issues at once

I used to have that awesome mopar suspension book but i can't find it :( wondering if i trashed it when i was never gonna have a car again

2-3 degrees has proven good for Cal-tracs here, even on the street. Haha a man after my own heart, who cares about some extra noise or a stiffer ride I want more traction! :D

Oil pan and trans pan are on the same plane as the crankshaft... 3 degrees down is a good starting point.. It'll probably be fine, if not a small shim would nail it... FWIW I've got a few tools for measuring the angle but lately I'm really liking one of these..

Will grab one of those.. not sure how much i trust my 40 year old cracked plastic one..

Pinion angle was only -8.2 when it should be zero to -1... soo.. i think that might be the vibration issue... old perches out, new ones in waiting to measure it all and weld.. a job for this weekend
