While running some wiring under the dash of my 69 RR, I came acrose a pretty large spring protruding through the fire wall. It appears to connect to the steering column on the inside of the firewall and to the steering column under the hood. Does anyone have any information on this spring? it is a pretty heavy spring, approx 1/4" What is it for? how can you stretch it to properly fit? Where exactly does it go?

Thank you,

Don

if your using a daiphragm clutch you don't want to install it. if your using a factory type borg&beck then put it in.

a borg&beck has 3 fingers that the throw out bearing rides on. a diapragm has perhaps 20. a borg&beck would have been stock.

Throttle return spring for Big Foot's car?

Those are not easy to put in with the pedal assy in place. It also holds the pedal in the up position so the throwout bearing doesn't ride on the fingers.
