medical scare

Hello to everyone who takes the time to read this post.

I'm going through a patch of hell right now and could use some positive vibes/thoughts/prayers. I posted awhile back that I too was having kidney stones, like many others here. The other thing that has reared its head is a cancer scare now. After doing x-rays, CT scans, Contrast CT scans, PET scans lymph nodes around my liver lit up! Tuesday they did a biopsy of the lymph nodes and there are spots on my liver so they cut a piece of it too. I have a couple doctors stumped because I look & feel healthy. All my blood tests show perfect numbers. So now I have to sit and wait for the lab results.

I know everyone has problems and mine are no greater than anyone else's, but anything positive from the good people of this board would be greatly appreciated!

Tough times Louis, my wife is a 5 1/2 year cancer survivor so we know the drill and she knows what you are feeling and going through. Todays fight against cancer has gone so far and like Dennis says your in the best country in the world with the best doctors to treat this disease. One thing i will say is when you see your oncologist id suggest bring someone who will recall afterwards what the doctor tells you. Take notes and ask as many questions as you can remember. thank you! I am try'n to stay positive. Sometimes it is easier than other times. Waiting for a diagnoses is making time crawl by. The physical pain has come out full force today! My liver is really letting me know it is not happy. And the trapped air pockets are making a scene. I figure this is a small price to pay if the tests return with good news.

Hey brother - Sorry to hear you're going through all this. As you've no doubt been experiencing the emotional elements can be worse than the disease. Your head plays tricks on you. I'm with the brother above that whatever they found it sounds like they found it early. The fight against cancer has come a long way. Stay strong and we'll be thinking of you. Glad you reached out. Keep doing so - and keep us in the loop.

Best wishes, and prayers for you. I just had the sonogram, or whatever it's called. Doc wants to see me Monday. I couldn't wait, so I went to the testing facility, and got my results. You might want to do something similar. Be pro active. Don't count on them to take care of you.
