sorry for your luck. like said before, drop the fluid and the pan and look hard for fileings. if none showing refill and drive gently and if all seems good drop fluid again. refill and good luck.

Guys,

thanks for all the support, I will continue to report what I found on the car:

This was holding the shaft, and it was loose.... can you believe on this setup?

This is the coil, it was tossed - yes tossed on the engine, between the manifold and the airfilter (loose):

I feel your pain! I recently bought my 63 Polara off of Craigslist. I went over a lot of things before I handed over the cash and I thought things were all good. On the way home I noticed the amp guage was on 12v...no big deal...threw a new regulator on it and it charged at 14v...then a few days later I heard a strange noise and began slowing down and made a left hand turn at about 5 mph...the noise got worse and then BAM! Both rear wheels locked up on me and the car wouldnt move. I jacked up the rear end and the tires would spin but not the driveshaft. Jammed a long prybar into the rear U Joint and the pinion shaft was siezed...had to call the tow truck for the first time in 10 years...I have ALWAYS been able to get my car running/driving again to at least make it home. This time I was royally screwed. I got it home, jacked up the back end again, pulled the brakes and axles and took the 3rd member out of the rear end and wouldnt you know...ZERO gear oil in the differential! No signs of any leakage, I can only imagine they either A)drained it and forgot to fill it or B) never refilled it when they installed the 3rd member. A few hours later I had the 3rd member from my 66 Chrysler installed (luckily they are both 742 cases!) and I was back on the road. This just goes to show that you A) can only take what a seller says with a grain of salt and B) No matter how much checking/inspection you do, there is always something you will miss. I am just really glad/lucky that this all happened to me on an empty road only going 5 miles per hour. Had that sucker decided to freeze up at highway speed I very likely would not be sitting here typing this out right now...

The pictures dont match here. The one about the steering coupler shows an exhaust manifold on the left side. The next one regarding the brake lines being painted shows a Hooker header and a different spark plug wire. What is the reason for that?

Green, Yellow is this thread a scam? :spam1:

Nah, you'ld still be here, just with a hell of a lot better story to tell........:headbang:

Gregory C

The Yellow is from a Challenger that I bought from them, that is another chapter.

Not a scam here. True unfortunate story.

Nonetheless I found more honest people than these guys.

Just be carefull if you are thinking on buying from them.

David says he is not able to send me emails, but does not try to contact me.

cheers

I would remove the trans and inspect... just adding oil wont do much if there is already damage... I would just drop the trans and inspect what's there. Most of this could be done through the side cover -

Completely unrelated...revhendo...my nickname given to me while I was in the Army was Hendo. Also, this was before I had installed the seatbelts...so locking the rear wheels at 60+mph might have been very bad indeed! I am just glad I was able to get it back on the road in a matter of hours as this is my daily driver. The best part about it was I did all the work in the street outside of my apartment complex. It looked like a junkyard...axles and brakes and wheels laying everywhere. It was a sight to see!

LOL, got my Hendo while serving with Uncle Sam's Camping Club, also. Hell, even my CO called me that. Crap, that's going on thirty years now. I need coffee...........
