The track just off of BW-8? That's Houston Motorsports Park...1/8 mile track with a very short shut off...

Yep, that's the one. A friend of mine works with one of the crews that races out there some. Went to a Sunday night test & tune session...last drag races I've been to in many many moons. I'm not a racer, but it sure gives me the bug to see what mine can do just for giggles.

And yes, it looked to me like a pretty hairy shut-down for some of the faster cars out there. It was my first experience with 1/8 mile racing...seems like a whole different animal to me.

LOL! I've seen some crazy looking crashes out there! A couple of years ago a guy with a Monza went from wall to wall to wall and beat the snot out of the car. I ended up buying the Dana with disc brakes, spool, ladder and wheelie bars with coil over shocks from him. That's about all that was still good on the car except for the engine/trans and interior. And I don't really care for the 1/8 mile at all. I've won a lot of races on the top end in the 1/4 and you can't do that in the 1/8.....

Anyone from the old Dallas Mopar Web Server?

I used go there all the time in the late 90s basically the same time I got on the internet

I lived in Wichita Falls for 8 years and San Antonio for 5. I was a member of the SA Mopar Club ... we met at the Pig Stand and had a cool car show / swap meet every year

I still consider Texas my second home even though I've been gone from there for 12 years.

Tallhair I bet you know a good friend of mine in SA. Wes Pieper
