So I had a zoom chat with the owner and he walked me around the car.
It did not get any prettier.

What would you guys do with the rust holes in the roof? I'm not ready to re-skin the roof.
What about treat the rust, weld up the holes, lead it, then put a vinyl top on it?

I'm pretty interested.

It is a four door. It’s got the two side doors that open out and the front and rear doors that open up.

I would pull the glass... cut out the bad metal and replace it with patches... small bits at a time (cause i'm not that brave..) would be hard to get perfect.. but it depends one what you are going for... the price would have to be really good to buy it though.

P.S. easiest way would probably be to patch it, get it straight as possible then vinyl roof it... chargers look good with them anyway..

Does it run? Patching the roof is one thing but you also have to take into account what it will take to make it a driver. Tires, brakes, fuel system, suspension, ETC.

Yes it runs, but needs a starter, gas tank sending unit etc. etc.
I would assume it needs brakes, tires etc!

I would plan on full suspension rebuild, new springs/shocks and all that... body doesn't matter as much as safe and mechanically sound. at least that stuff isn't expensive though

Its all about the price, My roof I had to patch a quarter size hole on it. You need to think about were the water went inside. Did it run down the pillars ? My pillar had to have a patch also. Wanting a charger is one thing but finding out its a rot box is another thing. Hope it works out for you.

Much better choice, not sure how much more you had to pay but it was cheaper than fixing the other one and you saved a few years and much aggravation.

When I bought my 70 charger a few weeks ago I hired Lemon Squad to send a professional inspector to look it over. Think it was about $400 and I got a 19 page report with a ton of pics of any problem areas. Its a great looking car and I hope it works out. BTW dont dally, they go fast.
