So now that I have the car on the road. Set the mirrors like I want them but they keep moving out of adjustment. These are my side mirrors on the door's. Is their a fix for this with out a lot of pain. Appreciate any info or answer to this problem. Blue

I fixed mine by putting small washers under the spring steel.

You could always run a fine bead of silicone between the mirror and housing. Might be a little "RED NECK" but functional. Short of breaking out the mirror, somehow tightening the pivot, and replacing the mirror; Red Neck works...

That was one of my thought's. It is a shame these are brand new one's. I could see if they where old having to do this. But guess that is what we get with after market junk. Maybe with time they will get some corrosion in them and get stiffer. Yes red neck fix is the way to go some times. LOL.

I think they will come apart without removing the lens from the backing plate.

From Rick Ehrenberg in Mopar Action. I tried it and it worked well. Low tech, quick, and easy.

Thanks for the advice. Will try one of these method's and see how it turn's out. They had not been wet before now and maybe that will create some interference from in side. I hope.

Article shows a "2 post" mirror.

Is that what you have?

I kind of assumed you had the remote adjustable style.

No Sir. just standard mirror's. Just a minor thing but figure your info was help full. Just figure now may be some interference may build up in them with being exposed to weather and so forth. Thanks for the help. Blue.

with my road runner, i gently used a heat gun to soften the glue holding the glass. once the glass is removed, i was then able to tighten the spring clip that holds tension on the pivot. resoften the glue with heat gun and install. be great for over 15 years.

That is good info for the problem. May give that a try. Thanks for that DIY info. Blue.

If it's a ball pivot- you can try using super glue.

I've seen that work really well, but sometimes it doesn't.

On mine I used double sided 3m tape to attach a handle to the glass so I could pop it off, once removed all I had to do was tighten the spring down.. no more problems.

Has anyone had any issues with the rear view mirror falling down or "sagging"? I have a 69 satellite and espescially if it sits in the sun the rear view will not stay in the position you set it too. Not an issue when cold. I know its the metal expanding from the heat but wondering if anyone has a fix for this? Thought about peening the surrounding material around the ball of the rear view mirror.

Pull it off, there's a set screw behind there to tighten it up.

Just to add to the original content here, I smeared some krazy-glue on the balls of my '68 side mirrors (LOL), adjusted them to where they needed to be, and they stayed where I set them. I accidentally bumped one and it did move, but I re-adjusted it and it still stays put even at speeds allegedly rumored to possibly have exceeded 100mph..so, good trick.
