MN mopar road racer needed

i have a '75 duster we intend to race at a chump car race at Brainerd this june. its a 14 hour race from 9 am to 11 pm. you are required to have 4 drivers and we only have 3 now. any amount (or none) of experience is fine. we just want somebody that is motivated to do this. please PM me if interested and we can discuss $ and committment. thanks.

What is a chump car race ?, Is it a closed course road race with beater cars ?, If it is, it sounds like fun, but unfortunately I'm on the west coast, I'm not very close to Brainerd... I'm just curious mostly...

ChumpCar racing features hunks of screaming junk that are basically held together with duct tape and bailing twine. It's grassroots racing for people who like to wrench on their cars, drive fast and have a blast doing it.

If this sounds like you, check out the website http://www.chumpcar.com/dev/cms/ and sign up a team for BIR's two races. Teams are required to have a minimum of four drivers who take shifts driving.


The series rules are pretty simple: Your race car can't be worth more than $500 before you install specific safety equipment. You also need a ChumpCar Competition License, which you can get by enrolling in the two-hour ChumpCar Driver's School prior to the race at a cost of $25.

that was the page from last year at BIR (brainerd). there is only 1 race this year, but there are races held from coast to coast and canada to mexico. races go from 14 to 24 hours. so each driver in a 14 hour race would get 3.5 to 4 hour of driving. its pretty cool. remember is a VALUE not cost of $500 or under. you have to be able to find (and have printed up at time of race) 10 examples of your car for sale across the country for under $500.

I remember seeing a 24 hr Lemon Series {knock off from 24 hrs of LeMans} $500 Claimers with up to date safety equipment not counted towards the $500, A guy I knew WRP said if you brought the tech./safety official, a bottle of spirits, wink, wink, he would over look almost anything that was considered too pricey...

yeah that wont fly in chump car. also, in chump car if your cars tires go off track for any reason, you dont have to be penalized by bolting an orange road cone to your roof.
