Modern Bullitt build

FYI can’t use the legendary rally seats with the standard charger long armrest. The side bolster Hits the last 2 inches of the armrest. It could work but eventually would leave a dent in the seat fabric. Not a problem if you’re also replacing the door panels but if you reusing your door panels they will be an imprint from the longer armrest base.

Thanks

Pat

Today I aligned the rear to the body using lasers. This confirm I welded in the 4 link 5+ years ago correctly;-) Then I did a front end alignment with my Fastrax camber caster gauge. Starting by rolling the front wheels onto a piece of plastic and thin piece of Formica. This allows the front wheels to turn and the suspension to relax. Camper was set to -.5° and the caster was set to +3.8°. Toe in was set to 1/8”. I was very happy with the rear end to body alignment. I guess all that check, double check, and triple checking before I welded in the rear suspension paid off;-)

Thanks

Pat

Outstanding work Pat, hope you plan on hanging on to this one for keeps!

Very cool....she's come on a long way since I last looked in. I use a similar technique for front wheel alignment but being a cheapskate its no Formica for me! Putting the tyres on old glossy magazines has the same effect as the pages easily slide over each other.

Aligned the low and highbeam lights and installed the plastic bezels.

Also picked up some new garage art

Finally got around to blacking out the hood turn signal lenses. I used black vinyl that matches the paint great.

Almost ready for Carlisle. Last polish and ready for ceramic coating. A few details left but I did make my own 6 speed Inland shifter knob out of a 4 speed knob. I was unable to find a engraver that could engrave on a curve So I used number stamps and hand carving the new shape. Looks good from arms lengths;-)

Thanks

Pat

I must say seeing u build this this car with the detail you have given it, it has gave me much inspiration that you don’t have to be a well known builder with ten guys backing you that ordinary guys in a garage can also do this as well. It has gave me some patience and a willing attitude that i to have put into my car. Yes there’s couple things u did that I may have used, take that as a compliment but I really enjoyed this car being built. I really appreciate your detail and showing us the how to, thank you sir!

Pat,

Just, WOW! Thanks for bringing us along for the build.

I don't think there is a finer Charger anywhere. You should be justifiably proud of what you have accomplished and I look forward to seeing you and your car at Carlisle!

Jesse, I really appreciate your note and I’m humbled that my build/thread could help and inspire others! There is a satisfaction in doing most of the work, but another ten guys helping would have been nice;-)
Thank You!!
