Stepping back a bit....
Jim has some great knowledge stored away in his head in regards to these old cars. He has had a couple of cool ones as well. His signature is in reference to a 1971 Hemi GTX, a pretty rare car. I recall in about 2001 I saw a green '71 'Cuda 383 in the parking lot of a junkyard in a rough part of town. It was HIS, he was there pulling some parts from a Mopar. He is a gearhead as much as any of us are.
Jim can be a great source for restored disc brake parts. He restores them at home and sells them from ads he places online. He has skills with these cars.
I have teased him a few times about his lack of humor when he responds to other peoples threads. Sometimes he responds, sometimes he does not.
There was a thread on FABO 2 nights ago where the OP asked about what pitfalls may be in store for a person moving from a city to a rural environment. One humorous response was from a member that spoke of "Snipe hunting". Jim responded that he had never heard of it. From there, it was ON.
The entire appeal of the whole "Snipe hunt" prank is teasing and joking with unsuspecting victims. Jim played right into it not having a clue what it was. When a member posted a Wikepedia link, instead of laughing it off, Jim got defensive as if he was seriously embarrassed by it all. If he had any friends, they would have came to his defense and the matter may have ended quickly. Instead, because he has a history of being grumpy and hard to take, it escalated. I had some fun at his expense. I maintained my cool but he was cussing, misspelling words, ranting...By morning, our exchanges were dumped.
I screen-saved them though.
Several members besides myself have noticed that he is not a friendly person.
If you need factory disc brakes or an oil breather cap, he is your man though.
