MOPAR Nationals 2018

I’m amazed that we all got pics &&& not all the same cars. Awesome!

No I sure don’t.

Thanks for getting back. Those guys are selling parts labeled as NOS and some are just licensed repos with the Part numbers on them BUT some actually are NOS. I almost got scammed on his "by Plymouth" emblems. Luckily I found out quickly he bought them from Classic Industries a few weeks ago when it was released and tried to Capitalize on them while he could. I told him I wanted my money back and he told me "NO repos have part numbers and Pentastar on them it's real". I said "These are from Classic just released recently are you going to give my money back" He then called the younger guy over told him what I said and gave me my money back. The 72 RR header emblem sitting there is also a Reproduction.
Guys that do stuff like this are NO good.....

OMG!!! I was scouring that very same table to try and understand what exactly it was they had there while looking for R/T emblems and was confused by their use of NOS on everything -- and I mean EVERYTHING! I picked up a 1969 Super Bee grill emblem and asked them if this was "new" as in brand new (circa 2000's production) and they kept saying "of course it's new, it's NOS". What made it more misleading was that most of the emblems were removed from their original packaging and popped through corrugated cardboard and wrapped in plastic giving the impression that at some point in their life they were removed from original battered packaging and thus indeed NOS from the 1960's/1970's. Not on your life. After looking at them a bit closer, I was convinced that 95% of their emblems were brand new production and reproduction, and simply walked away.

Instead I ended up finding a decent used R/T emblem from a fair vendor for a '69 spare grill I have in the garage.

With all of the reproduction stuff floating around out there, and more stuff coming out monthly it seems, it really pays to take the time to do your research and not fall for these greasy peddlers and their incorrect or obscure descriptions of the items they push.

Oh yeah... AWESOME set of photos you posted from the Nats! Also a pretty good spattering of cars I had missed. I hope to be getting around to mine shortly and get them posted as well.

How much were they asking for the Daytona?

Some of the highlights of the burnout comp. Also some of the "Unsanctioned" burnout comp.

This Daytona is a factory 440 4-speed car, originally born in B5 blue. Apparently left for dead many years ago, but saved from a salvage yard, then found it's way to a farm, eventually into someone's garage, and then finally into the hands of the current owner who picked it up in 2016. He was not offering it for sale, but I'm sure a potentially interested party with adequate financial means might just be able to talk them out of it.

I absolutely love seeing barn finds like these, and I honestly hope that it remains in this condition and does not get a full-on over-the-top restoration. Those cars get waaay less attention than patina'd little historical gems like this one does.
