OLBEE.. Yes I park inside, I think the orange is House of Kolors Tangelo Pearl if I remember correctly. Should be the only 69 Charger with a shaker hood and an American flag on the hood lol. I'll be sure to track you down, maybe exchange #s through a PM.

Pick a spot near the grand stand, the side behind all the vendors. That side normally seems to be sparsely populated

I think we have worked something out behind the scenes and I will let Jeff update the folks here.....
A couple of things to take into consideration and a couple of suggestions or observations. There is a covered pavilion up behind the grandstands on the staging lanes side of the facility. Usually there is a couple of cars on the pad, but still enough room so that people can gather as a meeting point. It is very close to the structure where you can purchase your Nats T-shirts and other trinkets.
The downside to meeting that close to the strip is the noise coming from the cars racing. Certain classes are louder than others, but it is an obstacle carrying on a conversation at certain times.
Secondly, I would suggest both a Friday and Saturday meetup. It seems that more than ever, people have to work on Friday and may not be able to come until Saturday.
You guys and girls are more than welcome to meet up around our tent in the swap meet area. Not exactly sure how many may turn out, but we usually have an area where people are hanging out under the shade of the tent. There are chairs and water available. Once I know our spot numbers, I will post them. But the tent is pretty easily seen as you enter the swap meet from the staging lanes.
Come by on Thursday and we will put you to work helping to set up or come by on Saturday afternoon after 4 and we will let you help pack up, just joking. But do stop by and say hello, I know I have put a face to a couple of the names.

Justin, I am confused. Are you guys looking to meet up at the covered pavilion behind the grandstands or my tent? You guys can use my location as a meet point, that will not be issue. If things go as plan, there should be an area between our tent and the Stephens / AMD tent which is being relocated over to the row in which we are located.
I would think, a covered area would be more appealing. Hopefully it will be dry and mild, but the last two years have been very nice, so we will have to see what Mother Nature has in store this year.
As an observation, for those coming and wanting to check out the judged show cars, check them out on Friday while they are being judged. Once the judging is completed on Friday, many of these cars end up in there enclosed trailers not to be seen again over the weekend. That is pretty much from 10 til 2 on Friday. The reason that I say that, is that if you guys are looking to meet up at a certain time, then certain activities may be going on that some may want to check out. So I would suggest getting some feedback on what works best for the group.

If you guys should be comfortable with it, I can have a note pad or poster board in which members can post a cell number so that others who may want to meet up, can arrange an alternative location and time. I tried a Saturday night meet & greet at Carlisle.NOone showed up.........
The evenings are tough as people have different agendas. Family and friends all looking to have dinner, tired from being out in the sun all day. I was shocked when I had approximately 8 guys meet up on Saturday morning at around 9:00 AM from the A12 site. Nothing was planned out as an official meet point and time other than some texting between different ones and the guys basically met up, exchanged greetings and then went off to enjoy the show. They did have an established meet time and location determined earlier from the website later on that day.
I am thinking that the 9:00 AM time worked out well as most of the people were on the grounds at that point and had not gotten into being at a certain point if you choose something like 12 noon. Another time slot that worked years ago was like 3:30 or 4:00 PM. At that point in the day, most of the people had the opportunity to see what they were wanting to see. The Nats is unlike Carlisle in that some people will start to leave the grounds at around 3 or 4 so that they can head back to the hotel, get something to eat and lay claim to a spot for the evening cruising depending upon where your staying.
Just trying to give out some suggestions and observations from 31 years of witnessing the event. I know that for some of you, it will be your first. Do not want to burst your bubble, but it is not what it was back in the early to mid 90s. Those glory days are history that will never be repeated. I guess that after all of these years, I have become jaded. But it still is the Nats and has a lots to offer. That is why I am open to helping in any way possible. We all should be aiming to make this a memorable trip and one that you will want to make again in the years to come.
I know that the Carlisle club tent did not materialize this year. But this would be a perfect opportunity to start putting the groundwork in place for Carlisle 2019. The 2019 and 2020 Carlisle and Nats as well will be pinnacle years for the hobby. So I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Columbus in a couple of weeks.

That’s why I was thinking 12-2,1-2 on Sat. Fri/Sat would work also. Couple hrs oughta leave time for people to stop by at ur location.Last ur was my first in 30+ & it’s definitely smaller, but still good.
