I live 20 mins away and have the weekend off, Stella will be there either in the fun field or free parking(depending on how much aggravation I'm interested in experiencing) , & on 79 in Heath on Saturday night, God willing and the creek don't rise, of course. Lol

Gone nearly every year since I could walk and definitely since I could drive. Sadly it isn't what it used to be, but neither is Pepsi from what I hear but we all still partake.

Hope you enjoy it! Try a Sopapilla from La Paloma restaurant across from the Duke station if you get the chance, but don't order the nachos

Ill bring my own nachos.
Thanks for the heads-up!

I am also going for my first time. Bringing my 65 Belvedere II, staying at the Red roof inn. Any tips would be appreciated.

I'll be there...flying into Columbus this year...took the Coronet last year!

See you in the parking lot.
Im staying there too.

Stay away from brice road in Reynoldsburg, the area is less than welcoming. Heath/newark are awesome, cruiser friendly, burnout punishment so-so, and great people for the most part.

Brice used to be "it" but the area has fallen apart. Some die hards still go but 79 is where it happens now. The track is decent, try pizza cottage at Buckeye Lake 10 mins SE of the track on rt 79, great car wash across the street from it. Quiet area that loves hot rods, just expect camaros and imports and Bubba trucks on the cruise nights.

The action at the track is bad ***. Nuff said

Thanks for the info.

I'll be there with Kahn (Larry), Goon (Mike) and my daughter. Being a racer I think you'll like it, the smell of racing fuel and the constant sound of reving motors really sets the mood.

Im bringing the Amish photographer out.
We'll have a lot of pictures, but we're not going to share them.
:)

I used to go every year. An entire group of us. My wife would reserve 25 rooms. I even won Super-Pro in 92 on a foot brake. When we started staying at the track instead of motel we got turned off. I'm going to pay extra to camp at the track, really? Only one race at nominal payout for $150 entry for 3 days? Sportsman cars pay extra to bring a trailer in? They can reduce payout based on car count? Nah, not interested
Doug
