I am making some aluminum hubs on the lathe for a compitition vehicle. I want to use a 4 1/2 x 5 Mopar pattern wheel. Are there different size pilot (center) holes avalable in aftermarket wheels?? I need a larger pilot hole to make this project work..

I would say yes there are different size wheel centering registers/center hole {Pilots?} on aftermarket wheels, maybe contact a wheel mnfgr. & see what the wheel experts say.... Maybe try M&H Wheel in SoCal or Stockton Wheel in NorCal they both do 1 off customs also, maybe they can shed some light on the subject.... Good luck on your "competition vehicle"

As a rule all aftermarket wheels has a larger bore for different fitments

The typical difference on the 4.5" bolt pattern is that MoPar centers are larger than Ford. Most wheels I see are lug-centric anyway so you might measure the center of an American or Cragar wheel for reference.

Truck wheels typically have a larger center hole. US Wheel and Cragar make some nice steel wheels specifically for trucks, check Summit.
The Dodge 4x4s use a larger bolt-pattern in my experience, although thats far from comprehensive. There may have been some built w the 4.5" bp. However, the wheel manufacturers I mentioned above list their wheels by # of lugs and bp, not by 2wd vs 4wd so I'd assume that the center hole will be large for 4 OR 2 wheel drive trucks.
I like the painted steelies or the powdercoated (black or grey) 5-point star jobs myself. They don't look to "truck-y" except for the larger center register which is what kept me from buying them for a car....way cheaper than Wheel Vintiques steelies, which is what I eventually always end up with.

Thanks for the advise. I want to put Weld Dragstars on the front of a 1957 Farmall tractor!?? I know, I know, it seems silly to most car guys This is a diesel tractor puller, Got alloy 20"X38" wheels on the back of it. Just have to keep the theme..

Any Photos ?

How about some photos I'm sure myself & others would enjoy seeing it also...

Yeah, I'd like to see that too.
Most car-guys have other interests too, especially if it's mechanical or automotive in nature.
Why did you choose a Mopar bolt pattern for the front? If you had a choice y not go with the GM 5 on 4.75"? Seems that parts like wheels n stuff would be easier to find.

I dont understand you question. I AM A MOPAR guy first, the idea of using even a GM pattern aftermarket wheel NEVER entered my mind. That would just be WRONG. :angry1:

I tried to post photos, just dont seem to want to work for me..
