Mopars at the Red Barn

I dragged the car all the way over and never took it out of the trailer due to the rain, kind of a bummer but at least i didn't have to reclean the car. Got a chance to meet a couple members here (plowman and RVW) and talked with a few others. Some really nice cars, especially for the rain. I can see I'm gonna have to step up my game in the mopar world!

It was our first trip to Gilmore, what a cool place!

Yeah, what a bummer with the rain all day. My buddies and I were only there a couple hours. I saw plowman's gorgeous Bee, congrats on a sweet car. I saw rvw's 62, another sweet car. I'm pretty sure I saw his 66 Coronet too, but I forgot to look at the info sheet and I didn't get a picture. The 65 Coronet is one of my buddies. It has a 1966 426 hemi and I believe a 4 speed. I didn't grab an umbrella, I had looked at radar as I got there and it looked like the rain would end soon. It kinda stopped for a few minutes and then started raining harder and didn't let up. Well maybe next year it'll be better and I'll have my 65 Coronet on the road.

Very cool. Looked like a very nice vehicle. Do you know what they were asking? I have no idea what they go for.

For average retail 11 they were asking 12500. He paid 11 for it. Not a smoken deal but not to bad. Looking it over I would say it was a touch over average

Hope to see you next week. Would love to see your car. Too bad it rained all day. In my opinion next week is a better show though.

bummer, I won't be able to get to the show this weekend. I forgot my daughter needed to move to a different apartment before starting up @ MSU again this fall. So we'll be doing that this weekend. Also, Plowman, there a chance my neighbor won't make it with the 30 Dodge. His friend with the trailer, fell off of a horse and got hurt. He may rent a uhaul but wasn't sure. Anyway it looks like the weather is going to be fantastic, enjoy the show and post pics. Thanks.

Unfortunately this was our 1st time attending this show and the rain really messed things up.I trailered my car 300 miles to the show at the Red Barns from northeast Michigan and my car also did not leave the trailer. The other guys at our motel did not get their cars out of the trailers either and one actually got in his rig after breakfast and headed back home. We spoke to a lot of other people that also did not get their cars out or just plain left them home if they were closer to the show. I'm totally with you on the detailing a car again, I just plain hate doing it HA! HA! HA! We did enjoy going through all of the buildings and looking at all of the rare iron inside of them. I do wish that they had more cars from the 60's & 70' though. It is such a pretty setting for a car show, so we'll likely try it again next year. One of the parts vendors that did brave the rain said that they probably lost 50 to 75% of the vendors and cars due to the rain and I'm guessing he was pretty close on that estimate. My youngest daughter and her boyfriend drove up from Indianapolis, IN. and spent a day with us, so that was also nice and the rain did not bother our visit with them. Kudos to the club that puts that show on and I'm so sorry for you guys about the weather. Keep up the good work and we'll see you next year.

65satelliteman, keep a look out for this 65 around Tawas. He also trailered down from Tawas. Not sure how much he drives it.

I believe that this 65 Coronet belonged to a guy named Greg Kopkow and I never did see him ever drive it. He either sold it at the show or shortly after that. He got it in a trade for an old 50's restored Dodge Power Wagon at last year's show and to my knowledge it never left his pole barn until he took it down to this show. The guy he got it from lived in Dryden Michigan and he was going to make it into a Dick Landy tribute car for his wife, but when she saw the old Power Wagon she told him that she would rather have that. It did have a newly rebuilt HEMI engine in it though when Greg got it.

I don't understand why guys who showed with trailers, didn't put their cars out. I'd have just left.
