Mopars at the strip

I'm going,
I'll be driving my 69' Coronet 500 there, (440, auto w/3.23's)
this will be my 7th "Mopars At The Strip",
The first 6 trips I drove my 69' Polara "survivor" 2dr 383/auto.
See: "Hemmings Classic Car" Aug. 2005 issue, it's featured in that issue.

I was going until my wife was notified that she'll have to work that weekend. I thought I got out of the military so they would stop taking my fun away. I guess when your spouse is also military they still get you.

69hemi, I see you are from Glendale that's where I grew up. My mom still lives there so I go there every so often. Maybe some day you'd let me check out your car?

This will be the first one I've missed in 5 years. Unfortunately, it happens to land right on my wife's due date, and no amount of negotiating has succeded in getting her to move the date. I mean come on, It's not like I'd be more that a 4 hour drive away. I promised to keep my cell phone on so she could call me and tell me if it was a boy or girl...

Women.

I did a show the day before a due date once, I was an hour away, and I still hear 40 shades of **** about it when it crosses her mind and that was 9 years ago.

Let me know when your down here!

Definitely the race, but that's all I'm really into... I've never been the "sit-in-a-lawnchair-behind-the-car-to-chase-away-kids-with-ice-cream" type. The midway is decent and the swap-meet is about on par with Spring Fling, but again, not really my thing. Come to think of it, I generally don't go watch the races either. I like racing and hanging out with my other racing buddies in the pits.

Those of you who will be there, for the race or just to watch are invited to join Hotchkis and Keisler on Friday and Saturday for the first ever MATS autocross.

This is the perfect opportunity to try your hand (and gas/brake footwork) on a safe, low speed track. The planned 20 second course will be safe to run with any vehicle, and no helmets or previous experience are necessary.

The course is free to all MATS attendees, and instruction will be provided. If you still feel too shy to run your own car, 11-time national autocross champion Mary Pozzi will be on hand to offer demo rides in the Hotchkis and Keisler project Mopars.

Well it's 5:am and the trailer is loaded and were just about to head down the road. We will spend tonight at Mesquite, and go on in tomorrow. We are going to be a vendor in the swap meet area, see ya there.
