MOPARS in the Snow

kills us, seeing these cars with a little snow on them , but remembering back to the 60's and throwing big snow tires on my 68 Charger and driving it all winter ...never thought of getting a beater until a few years later, after getting stuck a million times.. now I wouldn't take my car out if it looks like it MIGHT rain, much less snow ..had a 60 Chevy convertible in high school, had to scrape the outside and inside of the windshield in the winter... damn that car was cool

I drove a 65 Fury, back in the mid 70's. I was a broke kid, and the blower motor didn't work. The faster you drove....the better the windshield defrosted. LOL

Here's a couple.......

I seldom get my cars out in the summer when the weather is nice, too busy taking a nap in the hammock. So, I mostly get them out in the dead of winter when the snow is the deepest and go for a drive. Usually try to wait until the salt truck goes by first so I can get better traction on the road. I've seriously been considering a move farther north, then I'll have a longer winter season to drive my cars before the nice summer weather starts.

Got her out of hibernation today and put her on the hoist in the shop.

Hopefully a month from now it will no longer be a "Flintstone or Polaris Powered." ride And her fresh 440 will be doing the moving

I can remember back in the '70s driving my '64 during the winter. It had a Dana 456 rear and you had to be light on the throttle so you didnt end up going in the opposite direction.

My brother and I left Maryland one year to pick up a '64 in South Carolina. It was 50* down there and when we got back with the trailer, there was 6" of snow in my driveway. The driveway was steep and had a turn in it. I told him to give her hell. He chickened out halfway up and got his truck stuck. Then he backed the trailer down over the bank and had that all hung up. I had to get the tractor to get everything straighten out, then unload the car down at the bottom of the driveway. Got him headed back out and drove the '64 up the hill all on its own. Fun times!

I know an empty shell is pretty light, but that must be fun to move in the snow with those small wheels.

we got about 7" overnight. Some large drifts.
Will be moving snow today and tomorrow.
Glad I moved the Coronet when I did.
I will probably take my boy and dogs sledding later

We got a dusting the other day, maybe couple inches,
Monday evening {IIRC}
but I didn't get or let alone drive the car out to take any photos,
my car is way too pampered, my truck was out in it all damn day too,
we finally got a cold spell & some much needed snow,
been really warm this winter, usually mid 60's to mid 70's lately
I can't say I'm complaining either, I don't care for snow much anymore...
