More Chevy Bias lol

Ok, so I used to be a Chevy guy. 69 Camaro, 70 Chevelle, GMC trucks until I bought my 06 Charger Daytona back in 05. Since then, nothing but Mopars. At the last car show I went two, only two Mopars, including mine. Was my car the nicest there? Absolutely not. But, it was different. Some people looked at it like it was junk (mostly Chevy guys) but most people thought it was the coolest thing to see an old RR. As a car guy, I can appreciate all the old muscle cars, but to have an old Mopar is a special feeling. Some people just don't get it, but that's ok. Makes it more special!

Yup, I'm a car guy too but, grew up with Mopars and even tho I deserted them in the mid 70's, I went back and never left again but even tho, I still have a spot for mid 60's Mudstains and the tri 5 Chevys. Actually had 5 Mudstains (65 and 66's at the same time) and 3 56 Chevys. I really love the mid 60's Corvettes too along with the late 50's Corvettes. A buddy had a 58 that I did my best to acquire but it never happened. So far, never owned a Corvette. The people who bad mouth any old car should be shot :D

funny stuff BigMan, I always like seeing Mopar defended also... But I like many brands & Mopars are my 1st love thou... I've had many fast ones too, but the fastest cars have Hemi's & that's what made me a Moparholic as a young child, following my step father around the West Coast race tracks as a kid... I grew up in a Pontiac drag racer guys house, when he married my mom, he had a 64 GTO in 1965, it was a big influence on me... I still like many GM's & Pontiacs especially, we also had Fords & Mopars too, Even a Corvair turbo Monza convertible, Chevelle SS-396, 54 F-100 with a FE engine, 35 Ford Pick-up with a Buick Engine, among many, many others... My mothers 1st ever new car was a 1968 Sport Satty 383 4spd... I raced with GM stuff for years, mainly because of $$$ & sponsorship, but still always had a Charger or RR at-least at home &/or there was almost nothing available for Mopars @ the level I was racing anyway, except Hemi stuff &/or it was outrageously priced, the rest was pretty much inferior, to what GM performance was producing, unless you were high $$$ S/S guy with an old Barracuda or Dart etc., a Fueler or T/A guy pretty much {sorry guys}... Sorry to say from early 80's until the late 90's... I went in the 7's easily with less than $10k in an old 67 BB Camaro, pretty much impossible to do with a Mopar, unfortunately at the time, probably still cost 2-3 times as much at-least, to do it with a Mopar, that's a big reason why guys go GM... Mopar is starting to catch up again & especially with the cylinder heads, that's always been the big choke point with Mopars & that's where you can make big power, that's really where Mopar was lacking for the average guy for many years... I still love them thou...

When you pull in a lot with a rare Mopar everyone looks. Just imagine the sound of a Stroker hemi rattling the ground. No Chevrolet, Ford has the sound of a Hemi. The Hemi makes a Roar that can't be described or copied. Look i'm not really knocking Chevrolets or Fords, but they have nothing like it. Pulling into a lot with 500 CI of Stroker makes the earth tremble. We have the reputation of being the baddest and best. When I was a kid I would race o0n local roads late at night in a 170 Charger RT 426 hemi. Even with the crummy Carter Carbs we still scared them off. I remember using a Vertex Magneto before we had modern Distributors. This thing would just make that motor wake up with the Edelbrock Rat Roaster. Then we got really smart and switched to a single four barrel 950 which really was an 850 with new base. We made a great deal more power. Well those where the days. Final note was when we milled the top of the rat roaster to make a little better mid range. The hemi was just to much of a top end motor to fool around with street carbs.

That's right. When I pull in to a Chevy Show - that's what it is, the heads snap. The sound, panache and shear attitude of an uncapped Mopar cannot be ignored. 350 Chevies galore. Mopars are special.
