Long story short, on my 1970 RR 383 I noticed that my 727 auto transmission kick down linkage started to have issues moving freely. After careful inspection, I noticed that the linkage is now rubbing up against my headers down below. This recently happened after some spirited driving.

My dad said the issue could be caused by a bad motor mount. I inspected them, they are hard to see but from what I can tell, they don't look blown or broken.

I just pulled my transmission mount, it doesn't look bad to me. Thoughts?

Could anything else be causing my issue? The linkage never rubbed before, and the headers i have on were dealer installed back in 1970... so they have been on the car for a long long time.

Pics attached.

The mount to check is the left (driver) side. (And if you wait until it's completely separated, your fan will meet your radiator)

You could try jacking up left side of block & check
mount movement.- Or brake torque & have someone look to see if engine jumps up.

This stuff all moves as a unit. Transmission, engine, kick down linkage and headers. Check the kick down bellcrank on the transmission for wear and make sure the flat washer and pin are still intact.

I found the issue to be the linkage that connects to the kick down bellcrank was slightly bent, so I took it off and bent it back. Not sure how this happened? I was mashing the throttle a bit.

Last question, does anyone have a link to the instructions on how to adjust the kick down linkage? I don't think the car is kicking down at all when I mash the peddle.

Thanks!
