Mount for Sanden Compressor on BB

Received my BPE brackets for the Sanden. The front bracket gos over the top bolt on the PS bracket. The hole on the right side of the new bracket looks like you'll lineup fine to bolt it in to the block. This is the part number. MN410701 is for iron pump. Guessing that I could cut out a piece on the bracket and I would guess manufacture would say wrong PS bracket. Suggestions please. Thank you.

6872n73 I want you to put spacers between the bracket and the bolt I assume to lineup the pulley. I may be able to see if I can put spacers on the block first thank you.​

1 Wild R/T at least they made two different brackets one with an iron WP and the other not. they look really similar except for how it notches around, but length looks the same​

Thanks for the photos and didn't realize that there was so many different placements for the PS pump. I may be able to make a notch out of the plate to go around that bolt or try to space it out first on the block to see if it can clear and see how it lines up with the pulleys. thanks so much everyone your advice.
 
Just a thought, hard to see with only pictures and not being there, but-
Notch out your new bracket to go around the PS bracket.
Make a custom washer(a big one) for the PS bolt that can cover both the PS bracket, and the part you notched out around the bottom of your new one and use that bolt to pinch both brackets in place. Then use the additional bolt on the new bracket as you describe as well.
This would be provided both brackets are the same thickness in that area.

Alternative, and more difficult, splice/weld the two together. This would require some precision. Removal of material, weld, grind flat, have it re-powder coated or sand blast/prime/repaint.
Not sure exactly how it looks but you might be able to remove the end of the PS bracket and drill a hole in the new bracket if you go this route, vs notching out the new bracket.

You're correct I'm gonna have to do some type of hole or relief cut out. But I did talk to Randy at BPE and I showed him what I had. His suggestion was that I'll take a holesaw mark it and cut like a half Circle around that area dress it up. And this way I'll go around that top of that bracket and bolt. I cut out a piece of cardboard last night so I can kind of see how far up I would have to go and I think that might work out nice. Was planning on doing it today but it's 32 out and snowing again. So hopefully tomorrow!
 
How much is it hitting it by? Would using a button head screw solve your problem?


If you need a relief cut out, I would be happy to pop it in my cnc mill and do a precision cut for you. I can very precisely locate the relief hole. You may also consider using an allen bolt to minimize the relief size.

I am assuming I understand what you are trying to do..........
 
Just had another thought. I assume the problem is the bolt head is hitting the bracket? If so, what I would probably do is remove the bolt and weld a boss on the back of the bracket, drill a hole in the bracket and put the bolt through the bracket. Would that work?
 
I like challenges like this. I don't have great pictures, but my 65 Cop car was missing most of its Leece Neville alternator brackets. From a picture on the internet and seeing one setup in person, I made most of the brackets. I was able to source one of the idler pulley brackets as it is a common bracket. Made most of the other stuff including the other idler pulley bracket. The last picture is an original setup.

So your modification should be pretty easy compared to this!
